Seems fine
I'm primarily a sax player, playing bass for only six months, so my opinion doesn't come from a lot of bass playing experience. That being said, these new bass strings seem a little brighter than the ones that came with the bass. This is probably good, because it's an acoustic guitar bass that's not real loud. I jammed with some other acoustic guitar players with the new strings, and it seemed to blend in fine with them.

World of difference in my tone now :-)
Restrung a Dean EAB that had lightly played factory strings on it. The bass sounded good as is, but when I played through an amp at church, the attack was way too bright. I read a few reviews about phosphor bronze strings and decided that I'd give these a shot. These new strings made a WORLD of difference. Vibrant and warm, I noticed a HUGE difference in tone. It made my $300 bass sound like a higher end bass. Oh, and they come with 1/3 the price tag I'm used to paying for my Blue Steels I use on my electric basses.

Acoustic Bass Guitar Strings
The strings were delivered on time. They sound really good and bright. The strings have lasted well and still sound clear after 2 months on my guitar.

Good for a budget set of strings
I bought these as an emergency replacement after twice as expensive DR's sounded truly, truly dreadful. I wanted thick gauge strings on my short acoustic bass (Cordoba MH-E Mini II). Like the DR's, the E string wouldn't fit into the gauge hole on the tuning peg. They're designed for no more than 90 gauge. But this is not a problem with the strings. The strings are too long to use the taper, which was also expected. These strings do sound a little tinny and metallic but it's not offensive or grating and with playing in, will probably calm down and mellow out a bit. They don't have as much finger noise as the DR's but more than the D'Addario's that came with the instrument. Plenty of brightness when new. Unsure how long they'll last with that, though.Overall satisfactory but since they're still a little too tinny, I gotta detract a star.

Nice tone, perfect tension but a bit scratchy
Pretty much perfect tension for my budget accoustic bass such that the intonation was just about right with no adjustment. They have a nice tone which suits an accoustic intrument with good lows and highs. However there is a minor problem that drops a star. Like most phosphor-bronze roundwounds they are scratchy - lots of finger noise when sliding notes. I get around that by using a musicians practice glove (available on Amazon and recommended) although surgical tape on finger tips is effective and cheaper.I would like to see a manufacturer produce flatwounds for accoustic bass. I have tried Fender electric bass flatwounds but the tension wasnt right so they are now doing sterling work on my Ibanez SR700

Why ship it?
The E string was bent. As soon as I started to tighten it it broke.
