I was in search for instructions to make a potholder as my first quilting project. To say I am a beginner is an understatement. I considered searching the library shelves for instructions but this book really got my attention. Not only are there are instructions a'plenty and great colors, there are instructions for making the particular quilt pattern tops. It is a great book, step-by-step instructions and, of course, the color selections are great. Some years ago, I got into making quilt blocks .. no quilting, just the blocks. I found I am not very good at choosing colors, so I just look at the colors that I really love that are used in quilting books and magazines. This book was just the book I needed!

I gave this a 4 star because I have not used it yet but I did read it. I wanted small projects to practice my new quilting skills. With just a few templates you can make 110 pot holders. It is like making a sampler quilt only useful and handy. It is also a great way to get satisfaction without making a whole quilt. It is great for bazaars for money making. I am going to make several and have already bought fabric to make them. I will post again when I have made them.

It has a lot of pattern book is one i would use a lot

I bought this book to get some ideas for small quilting projects to practice my quilting skills. There are many cute ideas and you can combine or expand several blocks to make table runners or placemats. Instructions are good, complete with templates, and there is a wide variety of ideas. I like to use precut fabrics such as charm packs and it's easy to use them here. It has helped me sharpen my skills.

Will make great Christmas presents

Lots of different patterns from just a few different shapes.

I was looking for a great gift idea and this is a great one! I plan on using it as a template to personalize for wedding as well as Christmas gifts! Love the easy explanations too!
