As described
Made of moderately hard rubber/plastic. Thinner than others I've used, but true to product description and photos. I was a little worried it might break up on me, but it's been working great. After 2 years of light/medium use, it works just as well as the day I bought it.I would not be without mine, and probably the first sanding style attachment I would recommend to someone just starting out, as it is easy/inexpensive to keep a collection of sanding pads on hand. That said, as my tool chest has grown I find myself relying less on this particular attachment. Wire wheels and sanding flap disks are more practical for most rust removal/rough metal work, and the orbital sander for finish work.

Not rubber
It's a decent backer pad but in the description it said rubber but definitely not rubber as I know rubber. Typical backer. Thin plastic type, just not rubber like it said.

Feels More Like Hard Plastic
Just what I was looking for but do note that it is stiff and feels more like hard plastic then flexible rubber...

its OK
its a bit soft for what I wanted to use it for -- not for precision work -- but works OK for general material removal. its a little flimsy. I also bought the Metabo backing pad and its much much better than this one
