Best decision I’ve made for my betta
I was afraid of my betta being harmed by a standard filter and the water flow isn’t ideal for a betta. This filter works like a charm and it’s fairly easy to clean with a plastic blade. I clean it out with dechlorinated, clean water during my biweekly water changes.

Perfect for Air stone customization.
The media could not be loaded. Game changer! Instant gratification! Great value! Quality sponge filter and it’s super heavy! If flow is open all the way it’s not gonna go nowhere, swear it’s not! Definitely try to put an air stone in these and you get two products and the benefits in one setup. After purchasing the Aquaneat sponge filter mat for all my tanks (3) and seeing is believing the difference between these filters and the carbon-based filters. This time I got the Aquaneat 60 gallon in tank sponge filter for a 20 gallon tank for my 4 inch fancy goldfish’s temporary home. I will transfer this over to his 55 gallon tank. FyI, fancy goldfish has to have a tank larger than 20 gallons when they starts getting 2-3 inches big.The flow is opened all the way it’s perfectly quiet my tank sits next to my TV and I don’t hear it. But the bubbles would be loud without the stone and being able to control the flow separately. My favorite thing by far is they sent a flow control splitter with, perfect. Air tubing is good could’ve used a little more. And had to take a nail file to the uptake valve could feel little bits around edge sticking out, didn’t want my fish to rub against it.The fact it’s easily customizable you can put the air stone in the second or the lowest basket that goes inside the sponge filter is just a game changer. As I didn’t see any videos on Utube do it this way. I will be getting a couple more for his big tank for sure!Hope video and review help!

Great sponge filters and easy to modify with the air stone. Have these in both of my 5 gallon betta tanks. Overall, good find!

Good with two exceptions
This was the perfect size sponge filter for my 5 gallon, and I'm sure it would work for my 10 as well. I did, however, need to add an air stone because my Betta didn't appreciate the big bubbles this produced. I watched a video and modified this to have a small air stone and it now produces perfect bubbles. The second, more important issue I had was the shape of the sponge. It is widely ribbed, and I had it in the corner against the side. My little Betta wedged herself, nose down, in one of those ribs. Thankfully, I found her in time and she's okay. So it now sits awkwardly away from the sides.

Amazing!!!
My Berta loves how quiet it is and not a lot of movement in the water which bettas like! Super strong even for not having the flow very high and keep water so clean while also giving oxygen!

Sturdy, Durable and Reliable!
Wow! I just got this today and I can honestly say without hooking it up that this is going to be a really good filter! It’s sturdy, heavy and is durable! I bought the one pack and I’m going to put this in my tank for a couple of days to see how it goes but I love it right now and I’m sure my betta fish will also! This is a must buy for such a good price!UPDATE: Added it to my 10 gallon tank and it cleared up the water within an hour and the water has been crystal clear ever since!!! I ended up buying the four pack from them a couple of days ago to use in my other tanks and they are a little smaller then the singular 10 gallon one but they are the perfect size as to not take up a lot of room in a ten gallon. In a five gallon it may seem a little big but that’s perfect because you know it’ll filter out the water without leaving it cloudy because it’s small. THIS IS A MUST HAVE IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON GETTING MORE THEN ONE FISH IN SEPARATE TANKS!!!! I’ll be coming back for more in the future

Does it bubble?
So it performs really well in my opinion. I use it to add air and some sort of filtration to a 40 gallon trough. I've had this item now for about 5 years now, cleaning and changing the sponge every so often. And it still works as it did the first year I have had it. If you want to change the size you could make it longer or smaller depending on how many middle piece you want to add or take out. I have one that is about 8 inches tall and another about 4 inches tall. It has a nice weight to it and never had an issue with it floating up and away.
