Great service
Great service matters. When the iron failed to heat after about 2 hours of use, I thought I was out of luck being past 30 days since purchase. Then I noticed the phone number for service on the side of the box. I texted and got a phone call back within an hour. They are sending me a replacement tomorrow. Amazing service in these days of robots.

Great product especially for the cost.
I've already found several use cases for this tool and the materials included with it. There is definitely a learning curve to properly weld repair. Point of advice would be always use some reinforcement whether the included metal screen or staples or also steel wool works great too. Also would recommend to do outside for ventilation purposes. This product has already paid for itself in money saved from repairs.

Works Great!
It worked well for a hole I had in the newly replaced engine splash shield. I used the screen, aluminum tape, and the plastic rods to plastic weld the hole. I just need to do some sanding, then a quick application of a little black flat paint on it.

I use the heck out of it
It works and i have hours of use out of it. I even used it to cut the inside out of a formed dewalt tool case. It is a hot item!

Pleasantly surprised with this product!
I needed to repair two waste bin lids that had the hinges torn or completely torn off from the lid itself. This was a cheap alternative to replacing the lids though I didn't expect much. However, the instructions supplied were satisfactory and at the end of the day I am using a large soldering iron to melt plastic. It really isn't that bad, if you take your time and do the proper prep work.Emory cloth is provided, I suggest you use it to clean around the areas to be repaired. For completely torn off items (hinges in my case) I used the pointed end of the welding shoe to stitch the part back together just as you would any other metal item that would be welded. The supplied mesh comes in handy. I can't attest to how much strength is added by using this, but it does ensure that the overall area will undergo liquification or welding. So, for large rips or tears I would say this component is a must. One thing to note - it does take a bit for the melted plastic to cool and resolidify, so take your time with large pieces and make sure it is fully cooled down before putting the item back into service. The supplied plastic welding rods do help but their use is more for filler and secondary on strength. In my instance I finalized this project with some 1" stainless steel strips, screwed along the length of the hinge for added durability and strength. Our waste management team will test my efforts, and I'll find out just how good of a job I did.

It works, but the brass tips get very soft when heated
I used this for the first time today and I was surprised at the strength of the repair. This works much better than the hot staples I'd used on previous repairs. However, the brass tip on my welder became very soft as I was using it. The brass tip is threaded, and screws into the handle where heat is applied. The threads became so soft that the shaft with the threads began to elongate slightly. I'd screwed the tip into the welder until there was no gap between the two, but as I used it, a gap began to form on one side of the tip. I then noticed it was angled slightly. So, I used the welder to apply pressure from the opposite side to bend the tip back into alignment. This happened a couple of times over the ten minutes I used it. Then, the tip suddenly and completely broke off, leaving the threaded shaft inside the welder. This welder is so effective and useful that I plan to purchase a replacement. I'm not happy with the durability of the brass tips, but otherwise it does what it's supposed to do.

Works!
Excellent product: I repaired a rocker panel skirt that was damaged by running over a piece of metal on the highway. The plastic panel was destroyed but all the pieces were hanging on, after warming up the bent plastic with a heat gun I was able to reinforce the back with mesh and blend in the front so I could sand and paint it. Even one of the clips was broken and I was able to repair it as well. Very useful product.
