AcuRite 01130M Digital Hygrometer and Thermometer

I purchased this for my son’s room as he suffers from allergies and asthma. I was highly impressed with the accuracy of the temperature and the humidity readings. It’s VERY important to keep the humidity at 25 to 30 percent for us. Knowing when to turn on the machines that generate a lot of energy to keep the levels safe was key. This meter was tested against a meter by a professional Industrial Hygieniest and I was told the readings are within the standard deviation and accurate for home use and my needs. I felt relieved that our meters were at times the same and only off by ONE DEGREE TEMPERATURE wise in ONE ROOM. I would highly recommend this if you suffer from allergies or asthma or you want to control the humidity in your home. Some may not know but ... increased humidity and warm temperatures and the moisture produced may lead to excelletated mold and fungi growth. I use this with a dehumidifier and an air purifier with a HEPA filiter and I feel the air is cleaner and less PPM’s that my son is breathing in. I noticed also that the memory function is very functional for storing the data as it changes. This helps us with symptom control as the environment changes. I can’t say enough how this little device has helped my son and myself in accurately knowing the readings and keeping on top of his allergies and asthma. I feel this is a tool to gage the use of the dehumidifier vs constantly running it. The humidity reading on the dehumidifier is EXACTLY the same as the reading on this AcuRite -which makes me believe this device has a relatable and accurate measurement. It is small enough to blend into his bedside table and I’ve placed it OPPOSITE corner of the dehumidifier for more valid and reliable results / readings. The BONUS my son said is gives him the time as well. I can’t thank AcuRite enough for making a product that is accurate and affordable. My personal feeling is some companies over charge for devices that are not as accurate and affordable as this one. If you are skeptical about this device and the accuracy .... PLEASE I hope my honest review will squash your doubts. I have NO CONNECTION NOR WAS I GIVEN THIS DEVICE FOR FREE OR A DISCOUNT ..... I’m just a Mom with a son that has multiple health issues and when you find a product that works ..... well I want to let others know MY RESULTS .... in the hopes that I can help someone else who is in a similar situation. I will end with this ..... as the warmer weather approaches .... I will be buying additional AcuRite Meters for EVERY ROOM. I purchased the black color and I am VERY HAPPY with the design the accuracy and also that this can be used as a display standing up with the attached “leg stand” or even put against a wall leaning straight up. My question to AcuRite is .... will using a Velcro to fasten to a wall in the basement skew the meter readings in any way? What is the preferred method for hanging on a wall from AcuRite - the manufacture of this meter? Thank you - for designing a device that is so accurate and compact and the price point is affordable. I bought 2 of these for 2 different rooms in my house. I wanted to be able to know the humidity in the rooms I have houseplants in. I love that it records the high and lowest humidity and temperature so I can see just how much the humidity and/or temperature changed throughout the day/night. It also has a readout telling me that the room is "humid", "ideal", or "dry". I have moved these in different rooms and noticed the immediate change in readings so these work instantly and seem to be pretty accurate. I've been using them for a few weeks and have been very happy and would recommend to anyone who has houseplants!

It's a nice little hygrometer. It's nice and easy to read. I would like it if the temperature was more prominent. Compared to the humidity number and the word HUMID or whatnot the temperature number is tiny. I would also like a way to hang it from the wall. I like the magnet but don't use it in my kitchen, the kickstand works great but it takes up desk space. It works well and I have not had any issues with it.

I have the original Acu Rite for about 6 years & it’s still going strong! Wanted another one for another room and I LOVE the newer slim design! It’s very compact and less obvious than the original and I like that it says “humid” or “ideal” to go along with the humidity reading. Otherwise it has all the same readings as the original and the temperature and humidity readings are comparable to the original, I’m not seeing the differences that others have noted. Hopefully it will last as long as the original!

After only six months this device has failed such that it registers 1% for humidity all the time. New batteries cleaned contacts. No difference. Warranty requires sending it back. Paid $7for it. Pay $5 to send it back, I don't think so.

Supplied battery was dead on arrival. Instructions stated to remove protective film from screen which had clearly already been removed, indicating it was NOT new in the box. Otherwise works fine. These are handy.

I needed a digital thermometer to see if the digital thermostat that controls my AC is calibrated correctly. Anytime we lose power, it has to be recalibrated. This little guy has a nice, large digital readout. I like that it shows the humidity level in my home, as well. The only issue I had was that the battery they provided was a dud. I simply put my own AA battery in, and the device works great!

Probablemente no es el mejor higrómetro que existe, pero por el precio funciona excelente, lo utilizo para revisar la humedad en el estuche de mi guitarra y funciona de maravilla, además mantiene un récord de las humedades más bajas y altas, además de decir si está húmedo, seco o normal el aire del ambiente. Recomendado

This is the newer slimer model from the older thicker model that I used to buy and place in each cigar humidor to monitor humidity and temperature. Stuck both in my electric Liebherr Cigar Humidor and the old model was precise and accurate while this newer model was off by 6% in terms of humidity and 1-2 Degrees Celsius in terms of temperature. It is off the previous model by 3-8% humidity as compared to the previous older model which is more precise and correctly calibrated.

Muito preciso o aparelho, tenho outro termômetro digital aqui e os dois estão marcando as temperaturas🌡 igualzinho. Pensei que o aparelho era maior pelas imagens no anuncio mais e ótimo o mostrador ,o ímã que vem atraz do aparelho e muito potente fixa muito bem , Recomendo . Obs: a pilha que veio junto veio descarregada tive que substituir.
