I read every review before purchasing this and was prepared for issues with the handle, the magnification, etc. However, it arrived quickly, in good shape (no damage, fully functional), in a small box that includes a soft, reusable, cleaning wipe, like the kind you receive with a pair of glasses. And it provides good magnification of small print. I have no complaints. Will order another one today as a gift for someone who enjoys looking closely - at the very fine print - on world globes.

Really needed one for work, this was too heavy for that but it is really nice.It looks substantial set out and people comment how nice it is.I think it would make a great gift for say your boss, or professor.

I gave it 4 stars due to the fact that the handle tends to come lose ever time I pick it up. Otherwise good quality on size and magnification.

Excellent product

I buy quite a few products on Amazon these days and I only write a review if the product impressed me. I have to say this is exactly what I wanted. Very pretty because I want this pair to set out on my end table or desk. Really nice material. The lens is glass and the frame is metal. Perfect amount of magnification for me. Some are much to strong and some are way to weak. For the price it's the best! I have gotten a lot smarter buying on the web and remember to read the reviews!

It's very difficult to find a large non-illuminated magnifying glass. I purchased the Hoplex magnifier to use on the FAA Part 107 test, where the student is required to read fine print on very cluttered maps. This tool is also handy for reading fine print on food boxes and medicine bottles. Optics are good, but for the price, the customer should not expect glass quality found on thousand dollar Leica, Canon, Nikon lenses. Magnification probably refers to the area enlargement of the glass, not lateral or vertical enlargement. I very much appreciate the field of view of the Hoplite magnifying glass since the eye relief is fairly robust.

Very large. Was expecting something smaller

I bought it for a decorative piece for my coffee table but I use it all the time. It works great. Love it!
