I saw someone make this in a gardening group that I'm in. These are pretty easy to make and if you are crafty, you can use your imagination and creativity.The rods are about 12 inches long and comes with hex nuts. I'm giving this item 4 stars mainly because there were 3 hex nuts that didn't work well. I was only able to twist them about 1/4 way onto the rod. If you're designing this as fairy wands or fairy garden wands, then I prefer to not put too many gems on them otherwise they'd be too heavy.I made these primarily as garden wands but I suppose you could use them for other projects.The wands are pretty heavy before putting the gems on them, and even heavier with them on.

Have made many fairy sticks and works well for the project.

This is a fun kit that is suitable for a wide age range. The beads, rods and supplies are good quality and I feel the completed projects will withstand the hot weather in Arizona where I live. They really dress up potted plants and would make a great add on when presenting a plant as a gift. This would be a fun joint project to do with younger kids or older kids.

The rods were received as advertised although one rod was slightly bent. It was ok for my use though.
