The magnets are strong. We put lots of stuff in them including shells, seaglass, and pebbles and they were surprisingly secure. You don't actually get to assemble them, it's just 1 screw. I was hoping to put the whole thing together like a kit. The finished product looks like it was one. The photos misrepresent what happes a bit. If you hold them as shown to look through them gravity makes everything fall to the bottom. The same depth that allows you to put larger items in also will not hold anything in place unless it barely fits in. That does have a slight side benefit of things shifting as you watch, but it jumbles everything together. If you want to arrange your stuff in a pretty display, and alter it as you choose, you have to lift it flat above you without tilting and look up towards the sky. That actually makes it prettier anyway but is not as comfortable to hold. Trying to hold it down instead of up everything was dull because there wasn't enough light to look good. We saw high quality expensive ones at an art show that were awesome and made us want some. These are cheap toys meant to be played with not displayed. The professionally made display one where you put your various collected stuff on a white dish mounted at an angle and spin it was way nicer and easier to use but $80 and up for 1. I am pleased with this purchase. It is the closest I could find to what we wanted and at a price we could actually buy one each. Way more fun than taking turns.

I bought one of these for my 4 yr old granddaughter. She LOVED it. Even my grown up son got excited. I gave her a bag of loose gems, sequins, and beads, and little silk flowers ( its winter here, so no live plants) and she put some in and started turning it. All she kept saying was, "WOW! WOW!" Then she said, "I love what you gave me, grandma!!Then, we discovered sometimes it opens and everything falls out. The magnet that holds the two chamber pieces together are not very strong. So be aware of that. If that were not a problem, I would give it a five out of five!!

FunFunFunI’m a kid at heart!I thought this would be a fun conversation piece for when children come to visit.I have a plant collection, lots of flowers, arts and craft things around the house. Between chores, I find myself creating colorful displays with this adorable kaleidoscope! I wish I could photograph them!!

This is a great gift for children. They can view the tube before the parts are screwed together, then see how the objects in the kliedoscope is made. Children under 6/7 probably won't understand it as clearly, but they do enjoy changing the things between the glass. It is a great present and also it takes very little to put it together.

Even boring pieces of plastic looks cool inside this!

Purchased for my 11-year-old niece. We wanted a more permanent kaleidoscope and used tiny nail charms. I ordered online. We accidentally bumped the disc and charms went everywhere. It opens very easily so maybe that’s a plus but for us it was a minus I used packaging tape to close the disc together more permanently. The images are amazing! I was very impressed with the beauty it creates. She absolutely loves this. I would buy again, but would caution for younger children the disc Pops open very easily.

I was so disappointed with the quality of this. I got it as a gift for my son and it broke within minutes of him using it. He wasn’t being rough or anything. It’s just poorly made. Wish I had realized it before the return window closed but I was keeping it for his special day.

I bought this for my grandchildren, ages 3 & 6.This entertained them for hours. From construction ( simple assembly ) to choosing the flowers, leaves etc.
