Field of Dreams

I saw this movie the first time with my Husband on our 1st year anniversary. My husband was reminded of him and his Dad tossing the baseball back and forth to each other when he was in grade school. I have a cousin whose husband is the cousin to the person who owned the property that the film (the field) was made on. It's a movie I can never get tired of. The cast was GREAT.!!

I rented this movie to show my kids (ages 10-17) and we watched it for a family movie night. Still a great movie and suitable for a family.

I enjoyed watching it as a boy with my father and now I get to enjoy it all over again with my boys.

If you haven't watched this in awhile you may find, like I did, that it's better than you remembered it being.

It’s hard to find words for one of the most iconic movies ever made. This one always hits home with me.Having been to the movie set (Dyersville, Iowa), it’s no wonder why people still flock there. It’s still the same as the movie, and has a feeling like home for me.Having spent a summer living in Corning, IA., it only made sense to go to the “field of dreams” site (twice).To my surprise, I recently read an NDE story that suggests playing catch in Heaven and I was floored by it.

One of my favorite movies

I've always heard that "Field of Dreams" is a "guys film". Well, this 67YO woman can tell you that it ain't necessarily so. My father & I did truly love each other, but had an extremely contentious relationship all our lives (he was a difficult, complicated person, & I was a stubborn, hard headed brat), & we found it nearly impossible to simply say "I love you". I never told my Dad - a Greatest Generation multi-decorated WWII veteran & extremely well respected professional pilot - how much I admired & respected him. There would always be "tomorrow", right? But time ran out. So, I identified very strongly with the relationship between Kevin Costner's character & his father. The theme of this film is getting that one more oh-so-precious chance to express what you want - & NEED! - to say to someone you love. Somehow, through this film, I feel as tho I am granted that opportunity. Since it was first released, I have seen "FOD" probably 25+ times, & I cry at the end - & I mean UGLY cry! - Every. Single. Time I view it. My partner teases me (supportively) about it.The cast is perfect. I've never been much of a Costner fan, but his "Aw, shucks" persona is just right for this character. Amy Madigan is the kind of supportive, exuberant wife that every guy (or gal!) probably wishes for. And of course, how can you possibly not love James Earl Jones!Finally, I must rave about the score. I'm an aficionado of movie scores in general, & James Horner's work here perfectly captures the whole feeling of the story. The long passage that accompanies the final "Dad, do you wanna have a catch?" sequence is truly rapturous. I'll start to cry just listening to that music.So, if by some chance, after all these years, you have not yet seen "FOD", definitely do yourself a favor & watch it. Sentimental? Yes! But absolutely worth it.And do not wait for "tomorrow" to tell the people you love that you love them!

Esta película es una de mis favoritas y cuando supe que Universal Studios la había lanzado en formato UHD 4K la compré de inmediato. Se ve mejor que nunca, super definida, con el color realsado por el HDR. El único inconveniente es que no me llegó con Slipcover

Campo dos Sonhos tem nesta edição a melhor imagem possível, com som DTX:X apropriado, que valoriza um filme que fala sobre a liberdade de expressão e o aperfeiçoamento da sociedade como um todo. O preço do disco não é tão elevado como a maioria das edições 4K importadas e assim vale a pena a sua aquisição.

La película es una maravilla y haberla podido encontrar, después de tantos años ha sido una pasada!!!

Beaucoup d'émotion avec ce film. Un de mes préférés, aller au bout de ses rêves, même si tout est contre vous, en voilà une bien belle initiative.
