The Power of Praying Through Fear

I am at such a loss for words on how to express how amazing, how wonderful, this book has been for me. It is, HANDS down, the most powerful book on fear and anxiety I have ever read, and believe you me, I have read a LOT!!! I am attempting to battle my anxiety without the help of medications, since I feel this is not the right choice for me, specifically. So I have been searching for messages about anxiety that are filled with peace, love, and hope, and if any book was ever meant to stand out, it's this one.Stormie's story is so inspiring, and heartbreaking, and yet filled with so much hope...which is the sole focus of her message. If she could endure everything she did, and still come out with her faith shining so brightly, then I can too!If you suffer from fear and anxiety, or from phobias, PLEASE read this book. There are so many stories to help you gain perspective, and scriptures and prayers for strengthening your faith. I have always said that I have a general anxiety, which is really just a blanket statement that I've thrown over the entirety of my life. But upon reading this book I discovered that within my anxiety there are other fears, which I can address individually. Perhaps most of all, it helped me to look at everything differently. To realize that my heart and thoughts matter. Chapter 6 made me cry. It was all about what to think, say, and pray for when I'm afraid, and the truth is, right now, I am ALWAYS afraid.I have so much hope after reading these messages. I have a new direction, and a new way to look at fear. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to conquer their fear, and place their faith, hearts, and minds, in God!

This is just the study guide - just be aware of this. There is (1) the main book - (2) the study guide (this one) - and (3) a book of prayers, which will be released in 4/18. I wasn't sure if this book (prayer and study guide) was the main book and study guide, combined together in one book. It confused me ... so I bought it, only to find that I need the main book to use the study guide --- which is not easy to find on Amazon using their search tool (it keeps linking to the study guide, or the prayer book). I finally found it through a google search that linked to the main book on Amazon. --- weird ...Anyway - I will order the main book now and then update my review if warranted.

Highly Recommended! Stormie has done it again! This book is definitely very helpful and should be in any Christian library. The author has written many inspiring books on prayer. This one offers me much hope and helped me tremendously in overcoming the many fears I have. Of particular comfort is chapter 9 on overcoming the fear of death which is inevitable for all of us, before Jesus' return of course ! She offered many encouraging testimonies as well as many precious bible verses to help me conquer much of my fear of death plus many other fears that we all experience in life. It helped me have a stronger trust in the the Lord and really put my trust in Him, knowing that He will keep all His promises!

Stormie Omartian has done it again. This book is a must read and everyone can benefit from her biblical insight. We are reminded through scripture that God is all powerful and by Him we can overcome fear of any kind. I recommend you read it.

This book was given to a friend whose husband recently died. Fear of the unknown is her major concern for the future. She has read other books by Stormie Omartian and believes this one will also help with her new norm.

This book was fantastic if you are looking to understand and overcome any fear in your life. I don’t think Stormie left any stone unturned when it comes to tackling fears!
