The Book I've Needed All Along
This book is awesome. It explains solid foundational principles, some of which I'd learned through experiemce, & others I was struggling w/. It categorizes 6 muscular "chains" which are sets of muscles used that get used in conjuction, as when running, jumping, climbing, etc. As someone who began calesthenics primarily to develop the functional strength to practice parkour, this book has been what I needed back in 2018 when I first begun. It also shows you progressions from absolute beginner to advanced. Perfect for wherever one may be starting. Simple, structured, & beautiful. I recommend starting w/ 1 circuit of each of type of exercise, to determine where you are & what exercises are right for you. Aim to train 3 time a week for 30 mins or so. Just work on finding what exercises you can do consistenctly w/out having to stop for days or weeks because you are too sore. Eat 40%-60% protein in each meal, & you should be golden.Anyway, get this book. I've got the other ones, but if you are a beginner or want to strengthen the fundamentals, this is your book.

Another excellent book by Matt
I have read almost all his books and this is one of my favorites (along with "Smart Bodyweight training", "fitness Independence" and of course "Gring Style Caliesthrnics"). So if you want to learn the fundamental principles of calisthenics and really make progress in your physical conditioning without wasting time, be sure to read this excellent material.
