The Hedge Wizard 2: The Hedge Wizard, Book 2

I felt as though this offering took the story in unexpected and thoughtful directions. I liked the complexity shown by the characters. They had nuanced motivations and were weak and vulnerable at times and steadfast at others. A great edition to the genre.

I enjoyed this story even more than the first book. Alex has a fantastic way of making the complicated and intricate dance of combat and magic easy to follow without losing the nuances. His stories aren’t linear nor simplistic and are extremely compelling reading. The growth in the main character is excellent and I’m hoping that in the next novel he is able to flesh out Lord Robert and Celaine more, their abilities have grown but as characters are in need of some more depth of character. This is not in anyway meant a complaint nor criticism, simply the desire of an invested reader. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the writing and the exceptional story and intricate mysteries that Alex creates and weaves into this world.

This was another good book in the series. The author made the story interesting throughout. I look forward to reading the next one.

I read a lot of Fantasy books and have really enjoyed getting to know Hump the Hedge Wizard and experience the world the author has created. I would have to say this is a great fun read with good character development. I am looking forward to the next installment.

I read a lot. Part of that means that I read a lot of junk while I wait for the good stuff to come out. This does not fall into that category. If you like tales of wizards this is for you.

Second in the series, this novel was a continuing of the first’s constant exciting plot and characters. Maintained interest and built to the end. Look forward to the next installment.

While an odd LitRPG, the book had numerous humorous moments. The descriptions of the fighting and other experiences were clear and exciting, making you feel involved.

I truly enjoyed seeing the MC's progression and the fleshing out of the entire supporting cast. This was a gripping read (finished in two days!). The little cliffhanger at the end was perfect. I will definitely pick up book number 3. Moreover, I would encourage anyone to give this series a try.

Even better than the first book with more exploration of Hump's character as well as that of his party members. The world building has the usual fantasy tropes, but with a bit of a dark twist that makes them feel more real and grown-up.

Excellent read. The Hedge wizard series is a most exciting collection of stories. Can't wait till April and the next book (Hedge wizard 4) is released. Highly recommended.

The story is progressing nice, the MC makes progress in multiple perspective, his power level of course, but also his world view, his friendships and his perspective about his own goals. He is not longer the small boy at the start from book one but is ready to really take responsibilities.

The book is a great read and has been very well written. Fans of the fantasy genre will love it.
