Great rachet screwdriver! ¡Gran destornillador de carraca!
I ordered this screwdriver because the Draper DIY Series 02266, wich I bought at June 2012 and is great, was far more expensive, and both seemed to be the same thing. Well, now it has arrived and I can see no difference between both screwdrivers, but in the new one I can read "Draper" on its handle. Both have a great grip, the same bits, and the rachet feels good (the new one seems a little harder, probably because it has never been used). For its price (a little more than 6 pounds), it's a very good and useful tool, a must have in a home.

A handy "jack-of-all-trades" tool for those quick household jobs
For £4.00, this is well worth it - a real bargain and a handy little gadget. In effect, you get a complete screwdriver set, to cope with basic household jobs - probably not the small fiddly stuff, like wiring a plug, but most of the other stuff. Plenty of phillips/crosshead bits, with a few flat bits and an extension stick thrown in too.The ratchet mechanism is very handy, as is the "on-board" tool storage - the bits and the extension fit neatly into the handle, in their own holder, and it's a nice sized handle, with a comfortable grip.I suspect that a serious professional wouldn't entertain it - they would probably go for a full set of top quality separate screwdrivers, plus a cordless electric one. For someone like me, however, it's very handy. I've put it in my kitchen "odds" drawer, to save dragging out my whole toolbox for those occasional little jobs - eg: tightening the handles on cupboard doors, assembling bits of flat pack furniture, unscrewing fittings before decorating, etc, etc.Just one caveat - the plastic cover on the ratchet mechanism tends to unscrew a bit in normal use, so you need to watch it. It's a two second job to tighten it up by hand, but it's easy to miss it coming loose, so keep an eye on it.

0 for 2 (now 1 for 2)
Ordered, received except box already opened. Took driver out and it works sometimes. The ratcheting mechanism is faulty, works sometimes not others. Clockwise was fine, anti clockwise was so intermittent it was pointless. Took Amazons replacement offer.Second one arrived. Again open box, this time the ratchet works but some of the drivers are missing. What is it with either Draper or Amazon customers. This is going back too, on principle. But now not offered a replacement. [EDIT added - so when the outer packing (Amazons not Drapers) was being thrown away the missing drivers were in there. Given that the drivers are supposed to be in the handle, the other 10 were in the bit holder, the ratchet was in a plain Draper box and that box was in Amazon delivery packaging foes to show how bad this delivery was] Poor packaging by Draper has meant a poor review now amended up slightly. If I hadn't been so speedy may have got a good one from the 2. Draper when I was growing up was reliable, not so sure now.

Strong screwdriver but other areas are weak.
The screwdriver is very good and feels quite strong. I have a feeling the switch for the ratchet may fail at some point as this is the weakest part and sometimes it requires a little effort to change. All of the bits clip onto a black plastic holder which fits into the handle and means no more fumbling around trying to get the bits out. As said previously, the magnet isn't too strong so sometimes the bits fall out, these aren't magnetic either so won't hold on to ay screws.Lastly, I fail to see how it is a '14 piece' screwdriver. There are 12 screwdriver heads (4 flat head, 4 phillips, 4 cross) and an extension piece. Not bad for the price though, I'd only recommend this to have around the house and definitely not for any professional or regular DIYer.

Great, cheap, sticky screwdriver.
This Draper Screwdriver is fantastic for it's price. I bought it for less than £5, and for that price, you can't be annoyed with a few issues here and there, especially considering how much this tool offers. The ratcheting mechanism on the tool is great, and offers a forward and backwards mode, which it should. The only issue I've had with this is that there's a moving part just before the shaft of the screwdriver, where I believe the ratchet is located, and it can move rather than the switch if I want to change the turning of the screwdriver. In addition, the ratcheting has caused the screwdriver to get stuck, but other than that it's been fine. The only other quibble is with the packaging, I order "frustration-free packaging", but the sticker covering the shaft of the screwdriver seemed to be covered in a super sticky glue, which caused me some annoyance. In the end I had to turn to some sunflower oil in order to get the residue off it.Other than that, great screwdriver. Get it. Watch out for the sticker.
