Q: what size does this cover fit

My ironing board is 110cms long - and the cover does fit - but it requires frequent re-tying the retaining cords to keep it in place.

No, you pull the drawstrings at the other end where there are toggles to keep it tight. This is a great ironing board cover, I'm on about my 3rd, usually have to replace every 18 months, due to general wear and tear.

Q: Does this cover tighten at the wide or narrow end of the board i.e. closest to iron

There is nothing there to tighten it, i've used some butterfly clips to attach it to the ironing board

Q: my ironing board is 121cm x 41cm will it fit ?

My ironing board is 120 x 38 & its a snug fit so I done think it will fit
