I use trekk energy gels for trail and ultra running. Recently used in Mumbai Full Marathon as well and gels are very reliable. I mix different flavours for a run and almost all flavours are tasty and energetic.Trekk packs one extra new flavour and a small choc along with the order which I appreciate. Thank you.

I am preparing for my first marathon after completing a couple of half marathons in the last year. This is my first time trying gels for fuelling my 1hr+ runs. I didn't know what to expect before trying a gel.1. Taste: Getting a 30g carbohydrate load in a mouthful is going to be a challenge as no naturally producing food gives this much of energy content in such little amounts. I was hoping that the sugar and sweet taste would be easier on the mouth. But, the first time i had gel, the sweet taste hit me like a truck. I couldn't have more than half the sachet in one go. After using it for 4 times since then, I have gotten used to the taste of extreme sweet.2. Digestive System: The flavour can't hide or change or replace the taste of the highly sweet gel. But, as far as gels go, this one worked fine for my system and it doesn't cause any stomach or digestion related issues.3. Dosage: My intake is half a gel at every 40 mins with a few sips of water. i can comfortably sustain a 1h 45m run with one gel sachet. But, i will probably have to increase the intake if I increase the pace for that much time.4. Packaging - I liked the packaging! It has a small detail which I found very well thought out. The small tear off part of the sachet is connected to the main packaging with a small loop. Which means that I don't have to worry about throwing it or storing it. I dispose off the whole sachet in one go after the run.5. Overall Review: This gel works for me as my first gel. I would recommend it for people who are trying out gels for the first time. The taste might take time getting used to. Any Gel is going to have a very sweet, sugary taste due to the large carbohydrate content in barely 35gms of gel!Disclaimer: I haven't tried any other gel from unived, fast&up, leap or any of the international brands like GU, Maurten etc.

Used it at the ironman race. Liked the flavour. Did its job with fueling me in the 8 hour race. Tasted pretty decent as well.

Can't take the taste, it's way too sweet and weird tasting

The price is great , pleasantly surprised with a trial pack of pain flavor and a small bar of healthy chocolate. The plan flavor was funny for a energy shot. Not gonna try it again.The taste is very strong compared to competition like fastup. The effect was smooth. Its certainly value for money compared to competition. The pack is easy to open while running and the material is soft and doesn't irritate while consuming on run. Hopefully after the five units are over i will comsider it vs fastup as it is stoll cheaper comparatively It's 100 calories vs 80 calorie comparison. So if it matters to someone it could be an issue. Otherwise surely worth a try considering the price and taste
