Classic Brands Classic 8-Inch Futon Mattress with Independently Encased Innerspring Coils Brown Full

Unpacking was easy. There was no odor and the futon material was soft to the touch.It is as comfortable as a "regular" mattress.It is difficult to fold into the futon shape due to it's thickness, but I felt like I was sleeping on a "real" bed, not a futon. Worth the extra effort. Highly recommended.It's been 3 months and I haven't had any problems.

Had inlaws over needed something for them to sleep on.They said it was very comfy and they both slept well.

I’ve owned this for about a month now. It arrived fast. The mattress came in a box that is about 10”x10”x5’. It’s tightly rolled, with a couple layers of plastic to keep it tight and clean. I live in the PNW and it arrived at my back door very early in the morning while we were getting quite a bit of rain. We brought the large awkward box in, opened the ends to see if it was wet (it was sitting on one of the ends in a small puddle) to discover it was nice and dry. We left it for a day to dry out the box. As this was going upstairs I wanted to be able to carry it up in the box as I wasn’t sure if it would unfurl if we took it out of the box.We carried it up and pulled it out. It stayed nice and tightly wound. We started to remove the plastic and to roll it out flat. As soon as we did it started to expand. We let it do it’s thing and it filled out quite quickly. There was a very slight manufacturing smell, as some folks on here described, but considering this has been tightly compressed inside a box for who knows how long, it’s to be expected.We plopped it onto the futon frame, in the couch position, and it snuggled in quite well. We sat on it (2 people) and it was quite comfortable. The slight smell dissipated within a day or two. Mattress has stayed in place perfectly.This was purchased for my home office, which can be used as a guest room in a pinch. I have stretched out on it a number of times and it’s quite comfortable. I have not fully opened the futon as a bed, but know it will be fine. It’s the perfect reading spot which means it’s perfect for a nap! It’s quite firm.Absolutely pleased with this mattress, would definitely purchase again. With the quality of this mattress I don’t think I’ll have to for awhile. The cover it comes with is very nice, but I’m a firm believer in keeping a removable washable cover on your futon. The mattress has buttons on it. If you have longer hair, it hurts if your hair gets caught on one. I also recommend the mattress protector. I have dogs and cats and the protectors will substantially extend the lifetime of your mattress.Don’t hesitate to buy, it’s a very nice mattress.

First off, I received the mattress in excellent condition; no damage to the box or the product inside (thanks to the seller and UPS).On the day I received my mattress, i removed it from the box and left it rolled and wrapped it plastic. After a quick inspection I could tell there was no damage to the plastic wrap and the mattress was intact. The next morning before leaving for work, I deflated the air mattrrss this was purchased to replace and unrolled my mattress on the floor. I removed the plastic wrap. After the first cut into the plastic you can hear the air rushing in as the coils slowly expand. As I made the hole larger, the mattress expanded faster. By the time I fully removed the plastic, the mattress was at full height (8”), but I left it there on the floor and went to work.When I returned home that evening, I measured the mattress again and confirmed it was fully expanded to eight inches. My plan was to remove the cover and take it to the laundromat, then wrap the mattress in a waterproof bedbug protector cover. Although the cover is removable, the plastic tabs that make the demples in the surface go straight through to the under-side of the mattress and through the cover. I re-evaluated my plan. The cover is clean and there is no smell coming from it, so i wrapped the mattress with cover in a newly purchased and washed mattress protector, then threw some fresh sheets on top. I ordered my frame separately, so my first night was on the floor and after some ‘starfishing’, I passed out. I slept so well, I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning!My impressions of the mattress is it is firm, but soft at the same time and easily gives to my 210 pounds, without dipping in the center like foam and air mattresses tend to do. I love it after the one night.If you are looking and are on the fence, know that I whole heartedly recommend this mattress and do not regret it.[UPDATE]I did decide to cut the plastic tabs and remove my cover. I didn’t wash it because it says to “Spot Clean Only” on the inside tag. I went ahead and placed my mattress protector around the mattress coils, then placed the cover back over the mattress. This was important to me because I also purchased a roll of Futonland No-Slip strips. It grips the black cover better than the loose mattress protector I originally placed over the whole mattress. On top of the cover I used a quilted fitted mattress pad from Utopia Bedding. It easily stretched over the whole mattress and adds an additional layer of foam on top of an already super comfortable mattress. Sheets and blanket next, then I ‘starfish’ myself to sleep. 🙂😴

I looked at all kinds of floor cushions and mats for in a Zen room and couldn't find anything that would hold up to being on a hard floor. I had had this type of futon mattress before and thought that this would be the perfect fit. it ended up working out great. Easy to unpack would have been a little easier with an extra person but I was able to do it on my own and it fully expanded in less than 24 hours. There was a little bit of a smell but not bad and I think that is just from the compression chemicals that they used to compress it small to be shipped. Love it and think it is the perfect fit for what I needed.

As an adult I wouldn’t want to sleep on this every night even though it is comfortable! Works very well on futon bunk. Kiddo loves it and finds it comfortable for every night sleeping. Good quality, seems it will last a while

We took a chance ordering this futon mattress, but are we ever glad we did. From unpacking to use, it was a simple process. The mattress itself is so comfortable and fit perfectly on our futon frame. We are amazed at the support in the mattress and comfort when using it! It has increased our time spent in the family room as the mattress is comfortable and great accent color to the room.

Ordered this brown futon mattress and it is not 8 inches thick after 24 hours and it did not come with the brown cover as advertised

Mattress is nice. When folded on couch it bunches up. It is comfy to sleep on.
