Great mic for the price
The mic is actually a YOGA DM-868 but even though this brand is practically unknown its very good workmanship built like a battleship in fact very heavy metal casing which would easily withstand a lot of knocking about. Sound wise its good but you do get some feedback though I've used it out on a shopping precinct and its fine played for 4 hours without any problems it sounded great. Using it at home you have to turn down the bass a bit to avoid howling (feedback). To use it in a pub or club am not so sure but I would imagine it being ok if its good outside. Its a complete bargain for the price £37 and it looks the business with its nice shiny polished silver finish just like the ones Elvis and all those 1950s stars used. If your in a Rockabilly band try one.

Nice mic.
Nice mic. I was looking for a mic to use while singing with my band. I only do some of the singing so didn't really want to stretch to £80ish for a Shure SM58 and thought the retro look would be pretty cool.My only annoyance with the mic is it is not matt finish. It is chrome. Because of this there seems to be an awful lot of condensation forms on the mic as you sing. Not ideal when plugged in!!Nice sound though and a great alternative look!Protective case is excellent as well.

WOW!!!
Love the quality of this mic. Arrived early, which was a bonus and i couldnt wait to open it. I wasnt dissapointed. Arrived well packaged and on opening the padded case that comes with it, i was impressed with the look of it. Perfectly capturing the iconic style of the 50s and 60s. Had wanted a mic like this for years and treated myself for my 50th birthday with some amazon vouchers i had been given. Really is a thing of beauty, in my opinion and will certainly add an extra element to our singing nights. Good sound quality and on or off the stand, it just feels and looks right. Awesome piece of iconic kit.

Just what I was looking for!
Having used SM58's for many years, I decided I needed a new microphone that would look good on stage, and act as a mid-range filter. Although I normally only go for proven and trusted brands, I decided to give this Yoga mic a go, having read the raving reviews and compared the pricetag to the SHURE equivalent.Having received it the day after ordering (!), I brought it along to a gig that same night, and tried it out on stage for the first time.It added exactly what I was hoping for- a warmth and frequency range limited to the mids, which I guess is what gives you that 'vintage' sound. At no point did it distort, carried the vocals brilliantly- and then it looked fantastic! The only criticism I have would be that P's and T's pop out a lot more than on a 'normal' mic, but I guess that adds to the quirkyness. And do bare in mind that it doesn't easily clip on to a normal mic stand- I had to use duct tape to keep it in place.However- Highly recommended!!

Outstanding Mic for the money
This mic will help you sing better honest . How , well I have been a semi pro singer for about 30 years in various bands and for that time used shure sm58 mics . However my postuer was all wrong , head down chin in ,,closed airways , not good Now with this mic due to its shape you have to sing head back airways open and everythings improved ,, (smiley face) . The mic is reluctant to feedback whilst beeing loud and full sounding . Yes Shure do a version for around £200 and to be honest i have`nt compared the two but I think it would be hard pushed to beat this mic for the money . I also purchaced a little mic table top stand so when the mic is not in use it makes a really cool retro orniment in my music room

I tested it against my now favourite Rode live condenser M2
I was deciding between this and the Pronomic HM-2 Vintage Harmonica and Vocal Microphone, as the latter seems to have a stronger vintage lofi sound, but it costs nearly twice as much, so I got the Chrome instead. It does have a slightly bright retro sound, as confirmed by other users.I tested it against my now favourite Rode live condenser M2, which when I first got, was brighter than the dull sounding industry standard SM58 which I've used forever. Next to the Chrome, my Rode became a bit dull!Strangely, though the Chrome is a dynamic mic, it created feedback the way my live condenser didn't. You would think it would be the other way round! It was also quite noisy handling, which once again, the Rode wasn't. Both were placed on the same mic stand in turn.Sadly, though I'd have loved to have given it an outing at a live gig soon after receiving the Chrome, I had to use my Rode instead because of the above mentioned issues. But I've kept it for the look! For the price, it is solidly built and heavy, and would make a great prop for my video shows, even if there may actually be a black Rode hiding under it! Also, perhaps as it's my first vintage mic, I have to play around with it some more to get it right.. It will definitely look the business in a band playing vintage music!

Looks good
It looks great. Very shiny and vintage looking to perfection. However these mics are not renowned for being loud or clear, it's quiet and I wouldn't use it for a show.

I've found one that sounds good, amazing quality and looks the part
After having so many issues with microphones over the past couple of years, at last, I've found one that sounds good, amazing quality and looks the part. I use it for radio shows for broadcasting to hospital radio, making up audio for business clients and for video voiceover work.I'm really pleased with the sound quality and there's no electric buzzing noise in the background, which I got from other mics.Five stars is because this is the first mic in a long time that is outstanding on all counts. A good price for the build quality, too.

Bonito vintage.

Retro microphone
Although the article I received was not the one shown in the picture I like it very much, it is heavy, well chromed and has a good sound. retro but not too much. The slide switch is more like the one the original Shure uses and the side you sing into is flat without the central vertical rib, just horizontal bars. Also it came in a paper box and not the plastic hard-case as shown. I would recommend this microphone but, again, they should show you a picture of what you're actually going to get.
