Gets to the point fast, and doesn't jam!
This sharpener is great! I use it in my classroom to sort my pencils out at the end of the day.It has survived at least 500-600 sharpenings so far, and this isn't even the best part. The product comes with a UK plug socket, and a cable that has a USB on one end. The plug provides 6V at 1A, and the USB cable itself can be plugged into a good USB power bank and will run the sharpener just as well.Another great feature is that it also takes 4xAA batteries, they last a long time, and I actually ended up using this exclusivly with a USB power bank in my classroom. There is a sliding controller for sharpness of the pencil, this works although mine is always set to max sharpness. The blade is a cylindrical drum with sharpened edges that give the pencil a GREAT sharpened point, like the large hand crank sharpenersLeave a vote if you found this helpful

Very quick sharpening.
I previously had a STAPLES battery sharpener which failed, and so after reading the positive reviews I bought one of these. After receiving some helpful comments on AMAZON Q&A's...I returned the original for a refund, and bought a second one, as the case of the original was not aligned properly, and was out such that you could see the batteries along a small 1mm gap around the edge of the cover, and the cover kept slipping off all too easily. The new one is fine! With this new one, I have tried....- 4x AA Duracell 2400mAh Rechargeable Batteries (not provided)- UK mains adaptor (provided)- USB lead (provided) directly from my MacBook Pro...and the sharpening power seems the same for all three methods, and sharpens blunt HB pencils in about two seconds! The variable adjustment clicks along six times, providing a range of sharpening from dull to a very sharp point. The waste compartment is simple to remove and empty.A good safety feature is that the cutter will not operate when the waste compartment is not attached.

Works just fine - a real convenience.
A rather fine machine. Really does a good job. I've had it for about a month or so. Dreading when it need re-tuning or a blade replacement. May just buy another one altogether. The only issue i faced was removing the waste collected in the clear front part. It was jammed at first and I was concerned i was going to break it. By the time that i managed to open the thing, I was pretty anxious i had heard something click or crack. I emptied the contents and it has carried on working just fine. The only thing is that you need to be mindful when the waste is getting too full because when it clogs up, it can be trickier to remove. Otherwise i'm pretty happy. Other teachers like to borrow my trusty sharpener on occasion.

It works hard and saves your wrist
If your wrist has ever complained at you for sharpening that ever growing box of chewed up pencil crayons your kids accumulate, this thing is a joy. So good to have the power options so you can plug into the wall.I've only used it for a couple of days but its been a good purchase. It's gobbled its way through most of our pencils now, and the option for 3 sharpness levels is really good. I find that my kids snap the point off sharp pencils, so the mid option is just right for us.A nice heavy torque motor makes a little noise but you know its doing its job! I only wish I'd spent the money some time ago. I've had some cheaper ones from the high streets that are more child friendly but this one feels like something I'll be using for some time.

The sharpest points
I hate blunt pencils! I have three children who don't seem to mind them. So once a week I sharpen all their pencils ready for school the next week. This sharpener replaced another battery operated electric sharpener and I have to say it makes the weekly sharpening ultra quick. The sharpener offers three different points. I obviously thought I would always just need the sharpest but no! I have realised that there is times when I use the different settings depending on the expected use (shading, drawing, labeling, etc,.). This sharpener is a very worthwhile purchase. The ability to use either battery or mains is also good although I have it used the mains option so far.

Enables a disabled person to sharpen their own colouring pencils - Excellent product!
This was obtained for a severely disabled young woman who was trying pencil colouring as both a displacement therapy and to improve coordination, both successfully. It has been dropped many times from the table into a laminate floor. The battery cover and shavings holder fly off but always refit and, as yet, the unit is undamaged/unmarked. Excellent product - Very disability friendly!

Great machine - so easy to use.
Product is superb - I sharpened over 120 pencils for my class to use in less than 30 minutes ! Can't understand why I didn't buy one before. Loved the option of varying the amount of point too. Powering it off the mains is a real bonus too - no need to worry about running out of battery power.

Just the job!
Sharpens my pencils a treat which is great for my artwork. Only one complaint and that is it would have been useful to have a second wider opening for my slightly thicker pencils but overall I am very happy with this sharpener. Works equally well from the mains or with 4 AA batteries.
