Fine for converting low power devices.
Satisfied with product. Only used it once so far to power vintage 8mm camcorder from the US. All worked fine, no problems. Solid build, but I would not reccomend for high power devices such as power tools etc.

Do not purchase! Fire hazard
2 mins into using this with my blow dryer brush on low i heard a popping sound. Smelt something burning and the dryer stopped!!! I quickly plugged out the converter and it was still popping and smoking... tried to capture it on video but it was faint. My room smells horrible and now my dryer is not working along with the converter plug... I am so disappointed as the reviews praised this but I should have spent a little more and got a unit that actually is safe and durable. If I could give zero star I would. Will be returning and would never recommend or repurchase!!!! Not safe at all.

Voltage adaptor
This step down voltage plug fit my socket well and is a good weight. Unfortunately I had to return as the item I bought this for did not work.

Does the job, a bit noisy
The item works as labeled and is great value for its price. I noticed a couple of points that may discourage other buyers:- transformer hum is quite loud compared with other similar transformers I've used- output is stated as 45VA, but there's a clarification that it should be used over 30VA for more than an hour, I imagine that due to heating issues. I'm using it for a 25W device so it works ok in that case

Works for basic use, but limited power and versatility
The Mercury stepdown voltage converter 230V to 110V (45W) does the basic job of converting voltage for low-power devices. It’s compact and easy to use, and works fine for small electronics like chargers or lightweight appliances within its wattage limit. However, the 45W capacity is quite low, so it’s not suitable for anything more demanding. You really need to be careful not to overload it, as it’s strictly for small devices only. The build quality feels average but acceptable for occasional use. It runs quietly and doesn’t overheat with light loads, which is a plus. That said, it lacks advanced protection features you might expect from higher-end converters. Overall, it’s a basic, budget-friendly voltage converter that works well for small, low-power devices but has clear limitations.

So far, so good
I've had this step-down current converted for a couple of weeks now, and it's never shown any signs of failing, burning or made any loud noise. I've been using it with a 37 Watt air purifier, on and off, sometimes ensuring to not exceed 1 hour usage at a time, but occasionally forgetting about this restriction (read the description and don't use with high wattage appliances). The device does get warm, but reasonably so, like a phone charger. And it does work. How do I know? Well, when I bought my American purifier (120V), I initially plugged it in using an ordinary US to UK plug adapter. The purifier was then very fast/loud, even on the lowest setting, making me think it was broken. But since I started using this converter, the purifier has been working much more quietly/slowly, when expected to do so. It looks like getting twice the current made it work twice as fast, which was not how it was meant to be. Overall, I'm very happy with this product.
