I bought this to stop my chew happy kitty from ruining all of my phone chargers and costing me a small fortune in replacing them. Thankfully it’s stopped her from chewing through my cables so it did the job, however I do have a few small complaints which is why I have knocked a star off.- The smell when you first open it is STRONG. I understand it is to deter your pets from going near as well as chewing but for the first few days it was difficult to sleep with the phone charger next to my bed as the smell was so strong it was giving me headaches. However, after a few days the smell has either faded or I’ve gotten used to it, so this is no longer a problem.- For the price of the product you do not get a lot of it. Although I do admit this is partly my fault as it does state on the picture of the item there is 6ft of it, and I got confused between metres and foot. Considering the average phone charger cable is 1m long, 6ft of this product is only enough to cover one full cable and almost another one bar a few inches so it works out quite expensive if you need it for more than 2 cables.

Have purchased this before and have been pleased. This time it hasn’t done the job not sure if the smell on the cable wasn’t strong enough or whether my bunny took a liking to the taste! Two extension cables and three dyson leads later and it still doesn’t deter so I’ve had to find other methods. Usually it has worked and have been pleased but on this occasion it hasn’t worked.

I purchased this product as my cat has a tendency to bite through thin wires (such as mobile charges). The product does work, the reason I have given it only 3 stars is it very expensive for the about of cable protector you receive, I was able to cover one full cable and 2/3 of one other. The other reason for the lower rating is it smells horrible, its meant to have a citrus smell to deter the pets, however I think it is more of a people deterrent. The best way to describe it is like perming solution, however the cats are quite happy to sniff it. I would purchase something similar again but will try and find a cheaper alternative.

I'd love to have been able to give this stuff a higher rating. I got some in both sizes, and it did work initially for a week or so, but my cockapoo puppy's urge to chew soon overcame his initial aversion to the smell (horrid, close up) and taste (wash your hands after trimming it, as it's incredibly bitter). I knew my battle was lost when I caught him chewing on a piece he'd managed to gnaw off the end...

Didn't notice any odour as other reviewers have commented on. Haven't noticed any problems with electrical cord chewing by our kitten and he does enjoy a nibble on a cable or two! Not sure it would defend against a determined rabbit and think that more heavy duty options would be required if you're proofing against a puppy that's prone to chewing or a nibbly small animal. For a cat though, it seems fine.

Do not buy! I know I was taking a risk buying online but I thought it would be better quality given the price! £10.49 plus p and p for a 6 ft plastic tube that doesn’t even fit most standard uk mains wires! The plastic isn’t even that tough! £2.99 max would be a fair price. I wish I could return it but I’ve opened the package and cut the tubs already! It’s partly my fault for not reading the product description, I was expecting something like a braided metal tube given the price, that rabbits couldn’t chew through.

I was delighted with this product. I have a house rabbit and he tends to eat through leads of phone chargers and Christmas tree lights. Now he just passes the leads and no interest in nibbling the leads. Definitely well pleased!

Nice and strong wire/ cable protector, i have a spinal nerve stimulater that i have to charge via a portable charger. One day i caught the charger in a door frame and ripped the wires out, so i ordered this for my new charger.Its mainly for house pets but it suited my needs, the big down side is it has a real strong odour that is yet to go still.
