What a knife
Now this is a great quality knife though a tad on the large side. I maybe should of got something a little smaller, it will be used every day, my last one has lasted and still takes a great edge on the stone. Many thanks camillus. As others have pointed out about colour fading, I can't say mine is the same, looks great, feels great and will serve its purpose well.

Great knife!
I have been wanting a one handed opening and closing knife for quite a while and this Camillus VORTEX Folding Knife fit the bill perfectly. The price was within my budget, it arrived quickly and was quite sharp right out the box. I must say I wasn't expecting such a great knife for the money, but it surprised me how solid it is, also the scale material is robust and gives a good purchase when in the hand.If you're looking for a good quality, reasonably priced knife, I would definitely recommend giving this one a go.

I love this very nicely designed piece of steel
This is a wonderful blade, after using it for a few weeks now I cannot fault it whatsoever.First of all it has a good weight to it and feels nice in the hand when being used, the honeycomb effect is a very high quality and aids the grip very nicely. All of the metal fastenings were installed very well and there are no minor defects or scratches from when it was made. The belt clip is a very sturdy and stiff metal so I feel 100% confident when leaving this clipped on my belt that it will not be going anywhere. It also has a chunky metal loop on the base so you could tie or fasten it to something very easily. There is a small groove on the handle which helps when opening the blade but also once the blade is locked into position you can very easily feel this groove with your thumb which helps to unlock the knife blade in order to fold it up again - it is a very ergonomic design. The blade is locked into place by tensioned section of thick metal inside the handle which is very sturdy and is not going to move, this really adds to peace of mind as the blade is incredibly sharp upon arrival and you would not want this to move while using because it would easily take a finger off, and as mentioned already a simple press of the thumb against this section of metal will release the blade for storage in the handle. The coating on the blade seems to incredibly strong, I have used the knife to split small pieces of wood when building a fire and used the back of my hatchet to knock the back of the blade - I thought this might chip the coating but there isn't even a mark on it.Overall I have to say that this blade is VERY well constructed, perhaps my only criticism would be the price but you really do get what you pay for from this very well designed and crafted piece of steel - it is a worthy addition to my collection and will serve me for many, many years to come.

Great budget folder.
I have had this knife for a few years now so can make a reasonable assessment. I think for the money this provides a good balance between quality and price it is made in China (everything that this price point is) If you want USA made you will need to spend £150-£250+. So taking that into account my example was stright and sharp out of the box. The blade steel is AUS8 which is an entry level blade steel. If you want a super steel like sv90 then as before expect to pay £200+. AUS8 isn't the hardest it is however easy to sharpen. The G10 handle is roughly textered however provides excellent grip also has a sturdy clip for pocket carry. In conclusion this is a decent knife for reasonable money looks good and feels solid in the hand. I have had maine a few years and have used it for camping where it has served well. cheap enough that if I lose it I won't be heart broken. Highly recommended.

'A knife that deserves respect' 5*
I have a knife and weapon collection of over 60 item's ranging from antique swords and many different designs of blades. My folding knifes and fixed blades range from £10 up to £350, So I believe I have the required knowledge to review such items. If you want a one sentence review it would be this:'A knife that deserves respect'This Camillus knife holds it own against blades that cost far more then this one. From the overall build quality to the fit and finish this knife excelled in all aspects that make a fine blade. All the joints, rivets and the blade itself are built from a high quality steel that has not failed once. This knife is one of the few that comes shaving sharp straight out the box. I have used it for box opening ,cutting cardboard, cutting plastic and light woodworking I had used it for a week everyday before the blade lost it's edge but a few goes on a strop put it back too razor sharp again.I had only had to use a whetstone once when I was cutting through a thick cardboard box and not seeing an industrial staple cut into it about halfway. Which left near the tip of the blade warped which was an easy fix with an whetstone and strop. Now onto the handle which is usually were knife's in this price range fail, but I am happy to say Camillus has not made any thing wrong with it.In conclusion,The Camillus Vortex Carbo Nitride Titanium Bonded Liner Lock Knife - Black is a well thought out knife that puts even my high price range knife's to shame. And is one of the few knife's on Amazon that truly deserves a 5* review and is easily one if not the best locking folding knife's I own. This is a must own for anyone looking for an everyday knife or even for a collector such as myself.Camillus has truly made an design that is flawless in every single way that can not be improved in the slightest.

Very sharp and practical knife.
This is not a EDC knife in the UK because it’s over 3 inches plus it locks. But having said that you can use it for hunting and fishing if you can prove that’s what your using it for. It’s a brilliant study working knife and very very sharp as I found to my cost when opening the package. I think the company should pack this knife closed. ( be very careful using this knife ) I think this knife will last for years very good looking and useful peace of kit. The price is right as well. I hope they do one that’s under 3 inches and dose not lock because you can open it one handed. Then it would be an every day carry for me.
