Sony DK52 Micro USB Charging Dock for Xperia Z3 Plus - Black

I bought this from a third party seller rather than from Amazon as it was £3 cheaper and the product description was the same, however this doesn't appear to be a genuine Sony product as its missing the packaging, start guide and warranty information and instead came inside a plastic bag. The grip at the bottom doesn't work, when I pulled off the plastic cover, the sticky part that was meant to stay with the dock came off with the plastic. It also doesn't provide a snug fit on the Xperia Z5 Premium, it works, but the adapters definitely don't seem right and the phone seems to be pretty lose. I imagine if I used it in a moving car, the phone would wobble about constantly and eventually lead to the connection being damaged.I ordered a second dock for using with my computer, this time directly from Amazon rather than a third party seller. Comparing the two side by side and you can definitely tell that the one from the third party seller is a fake. The official Sony dock has been created in a single type of plastic, the printing on the back is much clearer, and the Sony logo on the front is correctly printed. The fake dock is pretty well made, and without having them side by side with each other you can't really tell the difference. However the fake dock should be much cheaper, the adapters are slightly too big, and the sticky part can't be used as it peels everything off with it. And there's no included warranty, which I doubt I will ever use for a £15 dock but its nice to know if I've used the dock incorrectly and my phone breaks, Sony will repair it.

Tiny docking station, no usb cable but it's the only docking station I've found that fits my Z5 premium perfectly with the smart style case on, aslong as you use the insert you should have received with the smart style phone case itself, otherwise the inserts that come with the docking station are to small and you have to charge the phone out of the case. Expensive for a piece of plastic but I like the perfect fit for my phone, less chance of damaging the usb socket on your phone. Would have been a five star if it had came with a usb cable.

It broke the charge port on my Xperia X because of the angle it leant the phone at, HOWEVER broken charge ports are a known problem with that specific phone so it wasnt that alone that caused the problem, more the straw that broke the camels back. Pretty irritating though. I currently use it at work for a Samsung phone and for that it works a dream, connects either to PC or mains, does the job as well as being a smart looking holder.

Dock was smaller than I expected but works great. The plastic protected cover for the non-slip foam underneath is a little tricky to get off without pulling the foam off too (reported in other reviews) but being careful with it worked for me and the foam stayed undamaged where it should be. I have no reason to think that this isnt genuine, but like the other buyers here it just came in a plastic bag and was not a boxed product.For my Z5 I use the official smart window case and that came with an adapter for this dock which worked as required, another reason why I think the dock is a genuine Sony product despite the packaging.Once placed the dock feels almost cemented in place, it does not easily move, and copes fine with holding the Z5 (not like other docks I've had for other phones which have had a tendency to fall over sometimes)

You have to own this if you have the z5 premium. it feels strange docking it. It's not as awesome as the dock for the z3/z3+. But it's way better than laying your phone down on your bedside table and charging it every night. using the phone as an alarm clock, there is a massive difference reaching over and sliding the phone to sleep or snooze while it is on the stand vs picking the phone up and having to do the same.....

I kind of resent having to buy this dock since I had a Z3 Compact before but Sony have removed the quick charge port from the side so I can't use that on my Z5 Compact.It doesn't feel quite as sturdy as the quick charge dock, the phone wobbles about a bit, but not enough to break the connector or anything.Base is VERY grippy.

The charger is great. Has a sticky bottom, so it does not get lost and stands in one specific place. It does not perfectly fit my Sony Xperia Z5 Premium (even with a selection of 3 different stand alterations), so it's not meant specifically for this Xperia. But overall I like it - definitely a good price and quality combination.

Good piece of kit and reasonably priced. It is a little clunky to use and you have to hold the base down when you remove the phone. Still better than finding the lead and plugging that in. I much preferred the way Sony docked the Z1compact which went horizontally and meant you could watch things in landscape.
