Does this come with skins to get you started, and can anyone recommend a recipe book please?

Hi,No it doesn't, but there are loads available around amazon. I use a couple of suppliers and can get 'hog' casings or the vegetarian collagen casings. Look for Tongmaster. Same goes for recipes books, there are quite a few on the site. I started with "The Sausage Book" which is about 90 recipes and has sections on supplies.If you use this machine, it is a lot easier than using the stuffing attachment on a grinder. You have a lot of control turning the handle to control feed rate while you get used to needing 3 hands! Is this an attachment to the kenwood mixer or can it be used on its own

It can not be attached to the kenwood mixer. It is a manual device. In my opinion, if you want to maintain the texture of your saussage filling this device is much better than the domestic electric or kenwood attachment sausage stuffers.

is the body made from plastic or aluminium

It is metal and I believe it to be aluminium. I can be certain it isn't stainless steel from the finish.

Is it the one that can make with sausage skin?

Hi, Yes you can buy the skin from ebay, and the best to use is skins 24 - 30 mm. I find the colagen skin good enough, and also cheaper.
