Update to: Love it, but has a few issues...
===== Update 1/9/2024 ===== Ok, so after emailing with support, they asked me if I bought the correct hard wire kit, which I hadn't. I had bought the one that Amazon was recommending. I had actually avoided buying the Pelsee brand one because it had low reviews because as some users reported, it would drain their car battery because it didn't have the Volt Protection Technology which turns off the dashcam if the car's battery voltage goes below something like 12.5 volts or something like that. The new one that Pelsee was now recommending to use had very high reviews and it specified that it has Low Voltage Protection built in. So I bought and installed the correct Hard Wire kit, which is this one: https://a.co/d/96tzm2u The major difference with the two different hard wife kits is that the original one that I bought only had one wire which connected to a fuse that had power all the time, so it was telling the dash cam to never turn off. The new Pelsee brand kit comes with two wires, one that connects to a fuse that is always on and one wire that connects to a fuse that has power only when the car is on and cuts off the power when the car goes off. After changing kits, I'm very happy to announce that the dashcam works perfectly as I would expect it to. It turns on when I turn the car on and it turns off only when I turn off the car. But not only that, but if you bump the car or mess with it in any way, the cash cam immediately records for the next 2 minutes, but the screen doesn't go on. It records covertly, which is simply awesome! I love it now and I just updated my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars. Way to go Pelsee!!! ====== Original Review Below ========= First of all, gotta say that I'm impressed with the quality of this mirror dash cam. It looks amazing. The night vision is insane! That said, there's a few issues that I hope they'll be able to fix. I installed it with a hard wire kit so that it can monitor the car 24/7. The kit only comes with 1 red wire and the instructions clearly state that if camera comes with parking mode, to connect that red wire to a fuse that has power even when car is off. So that's what I did. The problem is that the camera is always on, even when the car gets turned off, the display remains on all the time. Now, the mirrorcam comes with an auto shutoff feature as well as an auto screen-off feature. These features would be ideal, but there's another problem with them. I set the auto screen-off feature to turn off the display after 3 minutes of inactivity. And as I'm driving, it turns off every 3 minutes! I have to keep tapping the screen to keep turning it on! Pelsee... please update your software so that if the car is in motion, it detects that motion as "activity" and keeps the screen on. If it's detecting any speed or movement, it should not be considered "inactivity". Make sense? So that could be a simple fix. The other issue I found on my unit is that the auto shut off doesn't work at all. I set it for 1 minute, nothing. Then I set it for 3 minutes and nothing. It just never shut down at all. So that might need to get looked at. Another issue that popped up yesterday, we noticed that it tends to get pretty hot and when it does, it kinda shuts down and restarts on you. As we were driving, when we'd swipe the screen so it can show us the front camera, it would suddenly shut down and restart again. Then we'd swipe again so it could show us the rear camera and it would do a whole restart cycle again. But when the cam is cool, that doesn't happen. So that kinda worries me because we live in Yuma, AZ. Right now, the temperatures are still cool, but what will happen when the summer hits and the car's internal temps reach 200 degrees? I don't think it's going to survive one Yuma summer. So as I was saying... I'm so happy I finally have a dash cam. It's beautiful and I love that as it records full HD video, it's showing the direction I'm traveling as well as the speed, so that's cool. But I can only give it 2 stars until the issue of it always staying on gets fixed. That is really a big issue that I feel needs attention. And again, don't get me wrong. I DO want the camera on and monitoring the car 24/7, but it should be smart enough to detect when there's true inactivity, you know, the car off and no motion for 3 minutes and only then the display should turn off. Makes sense? Oh, and the hardwire kit I installed it with was the one Amazon recommended, which is this one: https://a.co/d/ceQLgKD

Great device. Best support from Pelsee
I bought the Pelsee P12 Pro to use on an RV. The installation process was easy and without any issues. On the first major trip across the country, it was not comfortable at all. The device powered off (or entered into standby mode) ever few minutes. I had to keep it awake by touching the screen constantly, it was driving me nuts. I even thought it was the SD card getting full, because it was constantly recording, and caused the system to power off. When the device was ON, the image was crisp and without any lag. The brightness is good, and the ADAS was working great. So, on the first evening i emailed Pelsee asking for help on the power off issue and the always recording function. In the morning i already had a reply from support apologising for the inconvenience and offering help in a clear instruction and also a screenshot on how to deactivate the "auto power off", and explaining the always-recording function is like this by design, but asking me if i preferred it to be set out differently, as they could manage it somehow. In a matter of seconds i found the setting they suggested - for which i searched on the day before, without success, that's on me - and tested it. The P12 Pro worked without depowering for an hour until i switched it off! And now that i know that the always recording function was not the issue, getting the SD card full, I'm OK with the device always recording. This is not my first mirror, but it is by far, the best i had. The previous ones were from the other side of the world, with sketchy firmwares, even some translation errors, as we all know. The support given to this issue was quite a surprise for me, as it was fast and effective. I ordered this from the US Amazon all the way to Portugal, because of the many reviews i saw online and i don't regret it. As I said to Pelsee support, in my opinion, the auto power off should be preset to OFF instead of 5 min, as this is a rearview mirror, and should be ON as long as the vehicle is ON, but other people may think differently. TL;DR: Great device with excellent image and even better support. The problem I had was that I hadn't read the manual.

Better than expected but not perfect
Pros: Surprisingly good ADAS, quality feel, 4k front camera is impressive, auto reverse is nice, easy install if you are ok with routing the wires its not hard. Cons: rear camera is not great at night, enough that it can’t be used as a active mirror. Glare from the mirror affects the display in bright light, wish I could remove the mirror layer but then I would have to cousins on the rear camera at night so that won’t work. Can’t dash mount as the wires poke out from the top. ADAS only works on front camera or rear but not both at the Same time. ADAS only works on the displayed camera. So to get the front ADAS (collision (car, pedestrian), safe distance, lane departure one has to set it to use the front camera, then I turn off the display aspect so ADAS keeps working with the front camera. That way I avoid the poor back visibility issues of bright days vs the mirror reflecting faint images of the rear view. Front camera must be detachable from the morror/display assembly as multiple drivers results in repeated tilting of the mirror/display which moves the front camera so ADAS stops working properly. Perfect would require: both front and rear use the same 4k front camera model, front camera is not part of the mirror assembly instead it sticks right on the windshield or that ADAS SW auto adjusts on tilt to avoid needing recalibration when the mirror is adjusted, ADAS needs to works on both cameras simultaneously, rear camera needs to be better than mirror both day and night so the mirror layer can be dumped. Better volume and clearer messages. Lane departure have an option to be bypassed by the blinkers, Price needs to be kept around the current price so it does not become a theft magnet. Connectors need to be sleeker, or attached to a hidden box to make the install cleaner. All this said i do like it and am considering getting a second one for the RV but it needs about 40’+ of cable to the rear camera. In an RV the mirror glare is not an issue and there is no need for a mirror so it can be a full time rear view camera, if only the adas would work with the front + rear or at a minimum the camera WHILE displaying the rear camera.

Great product!
Very good product good and reliable product. UI is very user friendly, it’s pretty responsive scrolling through the settings and very clear. I have it on a Miata and need to see behind when reversing as it helps with all of the blind spots. It also has these driver awareness assists (not the correct term) that helps with the blind spots whether it be a car or a person. It also has g-force sensing so in the case of an accident it’ll automatically record and save the clip. With most of these settings you can adjust the sensitivity of everything. Overall this is a great product for the price!

Quality Camera, Highly Recommend
*This is review is by Niall* After having a frustrating time with my last dash cam due to phone connectivity issues, I was looking for something easier, a plug in and record device as opposed to trying to connect it to a phone first. Searching, browsing and even more browsing and with so many other dash cams on the market, we're certainly spoiled for choice. Until I saw the Pelsee P10 Pro 10" 4K Mirror Dash Cam. A simple plug in and play set up. Exactly what I wanted. But not only that, they have safety systems built in, which I was impressed with and hadn't seen it on any others..at this Pelsee price too that is. Affordable but not breaking the bank. These safety systems were for Advanced Driver Assistance System and Blind Spot Detection. After installing it over the rear view mirror, the rear dash cam is certainly sturdy and not going anywhere. The straight forward setup up of settings, correcting the time, turning the safety systems on or off and calibrating the sensitivity of it. A breeze to do. Having now used it for a solid month I certainly do feel so much safer behind the wheel knowing if ever I'm in an accident, the Pelsee rear view dash cam has me covered at the front and the rear. It detects people and other cars swiftly, with beeps letting me know if there's a car coming up behind me left or right. With brilliant 4k resolution on both cameras BUT drops slightly to 2.5K at the rear cam if the safety features are on. Don't worry, that's still fantastic clarity to view the footage in. I did have queries though, I didn't like the fact that it automatically started recording as soon as the dash cam turned on, I felt it was wasting footage before I even set off driving so I asked if there would be an update in the future for disabling that or have a setting where it would start recording when the car is then in motion. Query 2 was that on the split screen for front and rear, would it be possible to switch the rear view to the left and the front on the right, I felt it'd be easier for my eyes to quickly see behind if it was closer to me. That may have been a more personal note I had but I was assured by Helen in support that it'd be something they'd look into. So yes, they are taking notes of any issues we have to then maybe update them in the future. I did however run into an issue viewing the files on a desktop. The third party app for viewing it wasn't wholly compatible. An email to the ever helpful support of Helen guided me in the right direction. Apparently I had to slightly change each file name on the front and rear video files then I was able to view both video displays simultaneously. Happy days. Another hiccup I discovered was that when it's raining, the rear lens gets quite fogged up and misty making it a little difficult to see behind. It's just a big blur of lights behind you with no outline of cars. I'd suggest to maybe invest in a lens protector for that rear camera..or a camera shield. Maybe something Pelsee could include in future packages? With this unknown to me brand, originally, I wasn't sure about buying but after other stellar reviews, now knowing it's a quality product and well designed and researched, easy to set up and absolute reassurance that Pelsee has me covered when out driving, I'm delighted I purchased this rear view dash cam.

Great customer service and product.
Purchased this camera/mirror to give my daughter a backup camera. After setting up and using the camera my daughter mentioned the camera kept talking and saying it was recording then recording stopped. I reached out to Pelsee and the customer support was great and was able to help resolve the issue. It's been two months and she hasn't had any issue with the camera or mirror since. Great quality and works as expected. One item to note, if you have a Volkswagen and probably a few other brands, you may need to buy an adapter to mount the camera if you want to remove the OEM mirror.

The quality is exceptional
I had a camper installed and I wasnt able to use my stock rear view so I was looking for a solution. I stumbled upon this company and decided to test it out. To my surprise it was better than I anticipated, the quality is amazing, the install was super easy. As more and more of my overlanding buddies bought campers I started gifting them one and they loved it. They say its the best upgrade they made. Once we removed the rear bumpers it got rid of the sensors and this helped with giving us our blind spot back. The pelsee team is top notch as well. Their support team is pretty fast with their response.

For the most part, I dig it
First, here's my setup: Installed in a 2014 Fiat 500L. Due to the previous owner, I have an incorrect windshield for my vehicle. It works, but it puts the rearview mirror off to the right just a bit. Not really an issue. I live in Las Vegas. It's hot. My window tint is very dark, also due to the previous owner trying to keep the car cool. I do have the hookup for the rain sensor, but no sensor due to the incorrect windshield. However, I bought the adapter for it. This helps. I have a 512 GB Samsung EVO high speed card in the camera. Most of my install involved pushing wires through the gap in the headliner and interior panels. Super easy. Pulling off the interior deck lid panels and routing the cable through there was easy enough. I had no issues here. The rear camera is supposed to be attached to the reverse lights, I guess to trigger it to come on when backing up. I don't know if extra power is required for the camera, though. My reverse lights are attached to my rear bumper cover, and the camera needed to be installed on the deck lid. So I opted to connect the extra power cable to a different source. Fortunately, my car comes with a reverse camera. And super fortunately, that camera has a spare little cable with voltage running to it. That was really cool. So I attached the cable to the new camera, and it seems to work fine. No auto trigger, just power. The most difficult parts of the install were finding a hot wire, and pushing the little cable through the little rubber cable sleeve between the car body and the deck lid. For recording, I'm running 2.5K in front, 1080P in back. All at 25fps. I'm fine with this. Good: Easy to install for me. I'm not afraid to take things apart, though, so that may have contributed. Camera starts up and begins recording before I set off. Video quality is pretty good. I like the driving assistance features. I got this camera because my daughter wanted the driving assistance features. Screen is nice and bright when it's on. The mirror or screen is also really big. Seems to be pretty reliable so far. Summer may tell a different story. The camera can be angled separately from the mirror. The rear camera has already survived a car wash tunnel, so I'm pretty sure it will be fine for most things. Concerning: My car is small, and the big mirror makes it difficult to put down the sun visors. Because of my funky windshield, this only affects the right side of the car. I cannot put that visor down without moving the mirror a lot. The connections also seem to be a bit tight when I have the mirror positioned for me. My daughter also drives my car. She has to adjust the mirror, and it's far beyond the range of the camera. So even at the most extreme camera position, it's still looking at the mirror mount. The camera claims 4K, which it does when only the front camera runs and the driving assistance features are turned off. Not a big deal, but be aware. Some may not know. The recorder uses MPEG Transport Steam as the codec. I'm sure this is because transport stream is good for systems that shut off without ending the file. Other codecs would likely end up with corrupt files in these situations. It's not friendly for my editing system, and requires a bunch of transcoding for the video to be usable. This can be annoying. The mirror is really dark. My tint is already super dark, but the mirror makes it appear like night time during the day. Actual night just shows headlights. This is only when the screen is off. The detail level is really high. Detail is the white border put around pixels with high contrast. This camera has high detail level, which makes the compression go nuts on the road. Not a problem, just an observation. My daughter and I like the driving assistance features, specifically the blind spot detection. The collision and lane departure ones get annoying. Another note: 4K takes a lot of processing power. This generates a lot of heat. The screen being on all the time also generates a lot of heat. Very fast cards are needed to record 4K and 2.5K clips. I'd suggest to anyone having heat troubles to reduce the resolution and keep the screen off. Anyone with recording issues should consider a faster card. UPDATE: I've installed these on both my wife's 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan and a 2011 Nissan Quest that we have. Installation on the Quest was super easy, and I actually got it done quicker than the install on the Fiat. The Chrysler, however, not so much. I was able to install most of it, but I had a lot of trouble getting the rear camera into position, so I just left it alone. My wife uses this car for work, so she has it most of the time. I only have time with it when I'm doing maintenance for her. Perhaps next brake job, I'll work on the rear camera, and I'll likely place it in the rear window instead of outside. So for the Chrysler for now, it's front only, which means the special alert features don't work. I've had all three through a Vegas summer, and so far, no overheating issues. Again, I keep the screen off, and I use the 2.5K recording instead of 4K. I have had an issue here and there in my Fiat where the dashcam restarted itself randomly, and there were a few times when video just didn't record even though I never touched it (happened in all cars). For the most part, they have been good. My problem is the strap hooks. In both minivans, one of the strap hooks broke. I expected a strap to break, as they are rubber and Pelsee gives you four of them. But the hooks broke, and the hooks are not user-replaceable. This causes excess vibration, and it can cause the dashcam to fall off the mirror. This hasn't been a problem in the Fiat so far. Also, the sticky stuff for the rear camera came undone on the Fiat. I had to remount the rear camera using the screws, which I should've done in the first place. Ideally, it would be nice if I could replace my Fiat's built-in rear camera with this one, and have the video go to both my Fiat's stereo unit and this camera. One day... The other issue I have is the long process for getting video to my computer for editing. My computer reads the drive as "uninitialized," or unformatted. This means I have to use a recovery app to get all the clips to my drives. Then, I have to use some process to flip them from .ts to something I can use for editing (I use ffmpeg for this process). But I can't really do anything with the files until I go through a lengthy process of recovery and transcoding, which takes a bit over a day for a full 512GB card. I've developed some automated scripts that help, but it's still a tedious process. I recently sent video to the police and a couple of victims of a drunk driving collision, but it was a chore. Also, my wife has started to find the mirror display annoying. It turns on every time she adjusts the mirror (which isn't often, but often enough). She turns it off by pressing the button at the bottom, but it still bothers her. I'm thinking of getting her one that doesn't cover the mirror, as she would like that. Plus, because the camera is mounted on the mirror, it always has the big mirror mount stuff in view. Having a non-mirror camera would help me eliminate that issue. I'm changing my review to 3 stars because of the broken strap hooks. Those are problematic. The other "issues" are minor.

Great Dash Cam with Excellent Customer Support
I’ve been using the Pelsee P12 Pro mirror dash cam for a while now, and overall it’s been a solid experience. The video quality is clear (front and rear), the display is sharp, and features like night vision and parking mode work well in daily use. Installation was straightforward, and it adds a lot of convenience and safety while driving. I did face an issue with the rear camera wire later on, but the support team was responsive and helpful in resolving it, which I really appreciate. Overall, a reliable dash cam with good features and strong customer support. Worth considering if you’re looking for a mirror dash cam setup.

Nice Looking, Clear Picture, Good Quality
I purchased it to get rid of the old crappy one. I received it a couple of days ago and installed it the same day. Believe it or not, the installation is much easier than I was thinking. The product looks very nice and popular state-of-the-art design. After using several days it looks much better than the old one. It has high-definition video on the front with a very large screen and a back camera with a wide large reverse review. The video is great even during the dark country night. It also works very well when the temperature drops -23C today. It is a great combination of mirror, dash cam, and backup cam. I would recommend a wireless back camera instead of the long mess cable.
