A must have for Playstation newcomers and avid Gamers alike.
A excellent console and pure white colour that looks very appealing and attracting to some and it is a satisfying looking colour to my eyes. I got this console today from yesterday afternoon I ordered it by Express Delivery. It was in a huge cardboard box that was protected by brown paper keep the PS4 original packaging intact. Once I unboxed everything in the pack except the microphone that you get included (1x White PS4 System, 1x white Controller, 1x Manuals, 1x HDMI Cable, 1x AC Power cord, 1x USB Cable for charging the controller and a small earphone-like microphone) after I boot up the console after setting up everything connected to the TV, it was fairly quiet and you could hear a bit of the system running its power, not loud as it's bigger brother PS3 which was more noticable. However the background music was relaxing and pleasant to me and not as bland and empty as the PS3 except it had great Dynamic themes that look interesting. The controller is also a lot more comfortable for the hands and more pleasant for the thumbs to use the joysticks more smoothly during gameplay which is a bigger improvement than the previous Dualshock controllers that almost look alike. Also the games look more brighter and sharper graphically. You also can download Free to Play games via the Playstation Store if you didn't have any games to play or want more variety and extra fun on your console than a game you might bought separately or bundled with the console. You can also capture your own gameplay and upload as a video clip or broadcast via Ustream or Twitch by pressing the share button on the controller which can be worth trying out, if you are only interested doing so. I highly recommend this to others if they are interested trying out a Playstation system for the first time or prefer something new and more next gen with more powerful features like the 8GB RAM it will be running.

A fantastic value console that really compliments our home entertainment area!
A fantastic value console that really compliments our home entertainment area! There is a lot of bickering in the console market, some like green, some like blue. However, if you are looking for a fantastic, easy, accessible gaming solution for you and the family you really can't go wrong with either of the main consoles! We bought the PS4 and the XBO to compliment the PS3, 360 and PC etc and can say without hesitation that BOTH of these systems have some fantastic exclusives and multiplatform games. The PS4 is a wonderful feat of engineering that keeps us all entertained for an incrediblely reasonable price. Initally I was going to cover the pros and cons of both consoles in my review, the differences between them etc... But after re reading my review, I decided to scrap that and say this... In the last few months, I have played both the PS4 and the XBO and expereinced emotions, toward gaming, that I have not had since the days of my NES, SNES, Mastersystem, MegaDrive! I feel that the last few generations or so has really pushed the gaming market in a strange direction, it became saturated with yearly releases of the same games, some getting worse after every release, it also went on far too long! By the end of the generation I thought I was done with gaming for good, I thought it was over for me... Until I played games on BOTH of these consoles! I was transformed back to a time where the creativity behind the game was the driving force, not the cash reward! This is going to be an exciting generation, regardless of system, we now have the ability to truly expereice what the developers Imaginations Intended. So let's put aside the specs for now, let's forget the colour of the box, let's sit down, and marvel at the incredible gaming experiences currently available to us on BOTH of these consoles and make some Incredible gaming memories together!

Perfection
I just thought I add 2 things I don't like. - When you look at the picture you see a beautiful console on it's side. It stands on a vertical stand/base. Now that is sadly not included. So if you were planning to store it on it's side, well then you can, but don't think you will sleep well knowing, in life things can turn bad quickly. So throw in some money and get one if needed. White is pretty hard to come by tbh. At least when I am writing this review. - No audio cable included. Now my monitor has OK sound quality, I have a sound system I would rather use it on. So another amount of money to be thrown in, if you want that to happen via a separate cable. Other these 2 minor things, this piece of art is performing brilliantly. It is truly a next generation console, with it's multiple added features and the new controller. Adding the PS app to it on your phone. In short, mind blown. Still must say, in white it looks spectacular. Definitely worth that small price difference.

IS THIS A PS4 OR JUST A PS3.2 WITH THE WRONG BADGE STUCK ON IT
I bought this for my son for Christmas and it may or may not be a good console. However, my issue here is the way Sony have set up the online multiplayer part. In order to play online, you have to purchase something called Playstation Plus which doesn't actually have anything to do with online play, it's a discount system for buying downloadable games etc. It costs an extra £40 which then ends up being a hidden fee to play online. I object to the way Sony have done this, instead of being upfront and clear about an additional charge to play online, they blackmail you into buying something extra that you don't necessarily want or need. If it wasn't for my son wanting this particular console, it would have gone straight back to be exchanged for a different console whose manufacturer is open and clear about online play charges. This is a bit like the government telling you to buy a snooker table if you want to drive your car on public roads. From what I have seen so far, this should have been called a PS3.2 Not much of a step forward from the PS3 but more of a money making very slightly diagonal side step. It is a real shame that great companies like Samsung and Panasonic (3DO) don't make games consoles. (I get the feeling that all the comments on my review are by Sony fanboys or even Sony employees) UPDATE. This PS3.2 goes from bad to worse. I have just discovered today it's interfering with the home wifi. When its switched on our download speed drops from 12mb to 200kbps. Try googling - ps4 interfering with wifi ANOTHER UPDATE: I am now thinking of returning this console as it is not fit for purpose. For a device that relies entirely on an internet connection to function that then wrecks the home wifi network when you turn it on. Faulty. We have smartphones, tablets, PS3, Wii, wifi TV's, laptops etc etc and everything works perfectly together on the wifi until you turn this bloody ps4 on. This problem is all over the internet and it must be a fault in the console because "Sony" hasn't done anything to rectify it. I emailed sony about this 10 days ago and they still have not replied!!! YET ANOTHER UPDATE: If I wanted a fan heater I could have bought one for £10.00. The PS4 doubles as a room heater with excessive fan noise - so much for a power efficient next gen console, this thing makes as much fan noise and uses more electricity than the old "fat" PS3 I hate to think how much racket this is going to make when the weather warms up in the summer! I am happy to report that my son is not using the PS4 and has found a good use for it as a stand to put his trusty PS3 on. He said to download games for it takes days instead of hours and minutes. It will probably end up on Ebay and we will buy one when Sony brings out a new slim version, as they always do! and that doesn't double as a fan heater. THE FAN NOISE AND HEAT THAT PUMPS OUT OF THIS THING IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE IN THIS DAY AND AGE. LATEST AND LAST UPDATE: NOW SOLD TO A MUG ON EBAY FOR £270.00!!

Really good console, highly recommended!
I've been using the PS4 for quite a few months now and I have to say it works great. There are so many improvements over the PS3, apart from the fact it requires internet connection for most things to function but that's just the way next-gen consoles are going. Something to note is that the controllers run out of power significantly quicker than PS3 controllers. Also using it to watch a film can be annoying if you want to turn the controllers off while you're watching it because there's quite a few steps to take rather than just an immediate option to turn it off and if you set it to turn off automatically it notifies you when it turns off and can disrupt the film. Other than that I have no problems with it. A great feature I have found useful is the ability to go into the games you've played (without having the disc in) and check for updates because it means I can have certain games updated ready for when I want to play them. Personally I prefer the look of the white PS4, but it's not like there's going to be a difference other than personal preference.

The console is amazing. But the controler isn't very much.
The PS4 is quite a nice looking a nice looking console, I'm quite glad I can create parties on it & the controler feels good. But I am a bit disappointed that on this game GTA 5 I can't aim straight at anyone else using the left analog stick after killing someone. To be honest it is annoying.

White = quality!
Slow delivery due to awaiting stock, but worth the wait - the console looks really smart in white and somehow blends in well with all the other techy bits, despite not having anything else that's white?! The OS is easy to work out and get along with from the word go - it's considerably different from the PS3 OS, and appears more similar nowadays to the XBOX 360 OS.... The bundled headphones are cheap and cheerful at best, so I don't think mine will ever be taken out of their packet! The new dual shock 4 controller is the stand out piece for me - definitely the best PS controller to date, and the first time something comes through the controller's built in speaker, I guarantee you'll jump - somehow I'd completely missed that from previous reviews, so it was a bit of a shock, but a super cool feature, especially for racing games when it acts as the 'ship to shore' radio between you and your team - ace!!

Great console and stylish look in white
What can I say - I love my PlayStation. I am a 27 year old female and finally decided to buy a gaming console. I wish I would have done it sooner. I was at first not sure whether to buy an X-Box for PlayStation, but finally decided on the PS4. At the time there was an offer for the white console, so I bough it. It looks very nice and stylish in my living room. It has replaced our DVD/Blu-Ray player and I love the fact that you can watch Amazon Prime and Netflix etc. on it. I have owned it for around 7 months now and played around 15 different games so far. The only slightly negative things is that the battery for the controller could last longer in my opinion, but I can simply connect it to the cable, so not a big problems.I use it on a daily basis, either to game or watch TV through it. I didn't have any problems with it so far and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

PERFECTA
La verdad es que ni una raya, ni una marca, ni mancha. El mando nuevo de trinqui. Lo único la caja, un poco abollada, nada más, la mejor compa que he hecho. Obviamente la alimentación no es compatible en España, pero es un cable muy universal
