Works Well
I have been using this for over 5 years now as it has been the most effective spray I have found.Effectiveness - KillingDoes kill spiders, but usually you need to spray them directly. It's not instant, so spiders might run off, but if you got them square on, they will die. The larger they are, the longer this might take. If suspended on a web, they will eventually drop to the floor. I can't comment on non-UK spiders / really large ones (>4-5cm with leg span) as I have not come across these yet (not sure I want to get that close for those!).Effectiveness - PreventionI regularly spray around window frames and doorways (and within frames / joints / hinges). This does seem to reduce spiders, but the sprayed area is unlikely to kill them if they walk into the area. It also helps keep spiders away from external cameras / lights.DurationThe advert says spray lasts up to 8 months. However, rain really drops the length of effectiveness. You will need to re-apply regularly. Guess drier places will find it easier.Smell / ResidueThere is definitely a strong smell when the spray is used. I try to have windows open for a while where possible to help fumes clear (as advised by the manufacturer). There is an oily residue from the spray, so be careful where you spray. It can be slippery on floors when it settles, so you may need to clean that up.OverallIt does a decent job and gives greater peace of mind. Watch out for residue / smell, and reapply as needed (sooner after rain) and hopefully you'll be happier from a spider perspective.

Works for a few days and then needs to be renewed
SpiderEx Spray is a reliable solution for keeping spiders out of your home. It’s easy to use – just spray it in areas where spiders usually show up, like windows, door frames, and corners. The formula works quickly and keeps spiders away for several weeks. It’s especially handy for anyone who dislikes dealing with webs or surprise spider sightings. Plus, it’s safe to use around pets and kids when used as directed. If you’re looking for a simple way to keep spiders at bay, SpiderEx Spray is a solid option.

No spiders in MY bedroom!
Smells quite strong. I don’t really like the smell, but I don’t think the spiders do either! I spray it round my window frame, because I always sleep with the window open. It works!

Clear off spiders. You're not welcome here.
Summer has gone and as the temperature drops the spiders have come out to play. And theirplaygrounds appear to be directly in front of my home CCTV system. I’ve currently got 6 operational cameras on the exterior of my house, along with 3 more which will be going up shortly around my garage, and every year it’s the same story with the spiders setting up camp right in front of them. Generally, during the day they’re not too much of an issue as the focal point of the camera is beyond the webs and don’t pick them up. That is until something gets caught in the web of course and spends the day flapping away in the breeze, tripping the motion detection and I end up with hundreds of false alarms and notification emails. As dusk falls the problem worsens when the night vision mode kicks in. Then you’ll get the web lit up in front of the camera, obscuring the view. Plus, every so often you the spider itself will make an appearance and you get to watch it prowling around like a facehugger from Alien. Basically, every day I have to go around with a telescopic feather duster to clear the web off, much to the amusement of the neighbours.Because of all of this I’ve long considered trying out some of the numerous spider deterrent spraysthat are available, but I’ve never been confident that they’ll stand up to the British climate and endup getting washed away. The reviews are usually very mixed, but I decided to try the one that claimsto have been developed specifically for the CCTV industry. I’ve been trialling Spidrex for about threeweeks now and I have to say that I’ve been thoroughly impressed so far. I spent a few minutesrunning up and down the ladder to give the camera housings and the surrounding areas a good hosing down with Spidrex (along with the wing mirrors of our cars which seem to be anotherarachnid Travel Lodge). We’ve had some changeable weather over the last three weeks, including some torrential downpours, and I’m very pleased to say that in that time I have not once had to remove any cobwebs. I can’t say at this point what the longevity of application will be, but even if the spiders returned today it’s still three weeks longer without a feather duster in my hand. I’m definitely very pleased with Spidrex and will continue to use it and recommend it.

Spiders are the worst
It does seem to kill spiders, used in shed and they are definitely all dead. +4 stars.Dissuades new spiders for about a few days, less if it rains. Main reason i bought is for CCTV cameras. Does literally nothing unless you plan to go out there every other day and climb a ladder to spray them, plus every other other day if its raining, which is every day in England -1 star
