I'm not sure why they are called soft grip, because the handles are hard. The shortness actually makes it harder on my hands, because my pinky has nothing to grip with the knife hold. This photo shows my plastic Prym 4mm next to the 4mm hook from this set, so you can see how short they are.

I love my Prym plastic hooks but I did not love these. They would be good for someone who likes short hooks. That is just a preference though and should not impact stars. I took off a star because the rubber on the handle has a strange feel to it. Not as nice as Clover.

These have been really nice for both amigurumi and wearables and the price is absolutely worth it compared to buying them each individually. They’re a lot more comfortable compared to other metal crochet hooks I’ve used. I can’t speak towards longevity though, since I’ve only had them for a few months.

I am a person who wants to collect complete sets of specific brands. That's just the way I work. But what I want to mention after seeing the reviews after purchase before it arrived to me. I was worried that my yarn would split or the hooks would break. I tested the 4.5mm 5.0mm and the 6.0mm on Hobby Lobby I love cotton and Mainstays cotton yarn. Here's what I didn't like about the hooks, I have crochet on and off for 15 years. The way it slides in the yarn making your tension slower than working faster. This is really a positive thing for those who are really learning how to crochet and want a complete first set. That's who should it be marketed to. I ordered these to have on my to go hook set so I can take it with me when going out for a small project. I noticed on my set of hooks the 5mm the way it was finished in the throat (shaft) of the hook I thought it would get caught in the yarn I would use but it has not. The size is true to the comparison of their other ergonomic hooks thankfully. I will order these in the future for my students who want to learn crochet. The handle is soft but as for someone who has fibromyalgia like myself the end of the handle may bother some. If you need to put extra padding I would say go for it. Again this set is great for beginners, or as your going away set that you won't feel bad about for small projects like a wash cloth.

I love these. Just the right length. No thumb indent. I use the knife grip and the lack of thumb indent makes it easier to roll the hook with my fingers as I crochet. Less wrist movement so less pain. I can crochet for longer stretches of time. It’s also faster for me. I can’t speak for pencil grippers. I would recommend this set. I have 2 sets.

Crochet hook reviews are almost pointless due to the fact that every single hand on earth is different and has different needs as far as comfort. I, myself, just love crochet hooks. I will crochet with a hook even if it hurts if I decide I want to use a hook that looks and feels a specific way at any given time. That being said, I love the way these feel in my grip. Like I am holding a delicate tool. It is not as smooth going as a Clover, but I am not a Princess. I just like it for whatever reason. And NO, they are not "fake" Prym hooks. They are made FOR Prym in the U.S.

Good quality. Lots of cheaper alternatives out there, but so glad we went for a good brand. Nice weight, comfortable, well made. Pay a few extra quid and go for this quality.

Ich habe diese Prym Häkelnadeln bestellt um meine alten auszurangieren und weil ich mit Prym Stricknadeln gute Erfahrungen gemacht habe. Meine neuen Nadeln sind super, sie liegen gut in der Hand und der Hals ist in Proportion mit dem Häkelhacken damit das Garn nicht hängenbleibt. Der Griff fühlt sich angenehm an und man schwitzt auch nach langem Gebrauch überhaupt nicht. Sehr schöne Nadeln - auf jeden Fall zum Weiterempfehlen.
