Fabulous paint!
I generally steer clear of painting unless I can do it with a roller. All of the radiators in my home needed repainting along with the woodwork on my stairs. The stairs were painted in white gloss paint previously and even before it started to turn a horrible yellow colour, I hated the shiny look. Friends told me I'd have to sand the paint off, apply a primer and then repaint using a Dulux or Crown satin paint. The thought of all that faffing around had me losing the will to live.I found out about this paint and decided to tackle the dreaded woodwork. The results are absolutely outstanding. I only sanded a few parts of the woodwork that had been bumped - probably with the hoover. I applied 2 coats to the wood and 11 radiators in my house and there is still a tiny amount left in the tin. I found it easy to apply but it is very runny so only a little is needed on the brush and a little goes a long way. I suggest working quite quickly as it starts to dry much sooner than most paints. This is another bonus for me, the fact that it's quick drying and has no odour. This is the only paint I will ever use to repaint my radiators or woodwork, it's an absolutely brilliant paint. I''m going to reorder so I can start on my French doors.

Happy to recommend this product to people who are not on a budget for their D.I.Y. redecoration jobs, especially for bathrooms
Bought this for £16.63 with free P&P in August 2015 for my home D.I.Y. painting job (F.Y.I. I am a non-professional painter). I bought it because the description promised "It is ideally suited for any area where conditions of persistent high humidity, frequent temperature changes and poor air circulation may promote mould and mildew growth and cause deterioration of the paint film."The reason why I've reduced the rating by one star is because I think this is too dear in terms of a price for the one litre of paint we get! I was barely able to used the paint on the bathroom's and toilet's ceilings and that used it all up! Also, I cannot comment on it's self-priming properties, as firstly I did not use it on any walls and secondly, I applied a layer of mould and mildew killing primer before using this paint (due to the severity of the mould and mildew problem in the toilet and the bathroom). On the plus side - the finish is a really beautiful satiny white, the paint does not smell much and it dries very quickly (truthfully, within four hours you are able to apply the next coat). I cannot say whether this is not just regular white paint in an expensive can, for it has only been less than a year since I applied it on my ceilings; so I cannot comment on the paint's effectiveness of keeping mould and mildew at bay long term. For now mould and mildew are out of sight, out of mind, but who knows how long this will continue with the humidity that generates in a bathroom! As per the promise on the can, it should be OK for, at least, another four and half years - HOPEFULLY!!!Overall, I will be repurchasing for myself if needed again (and hopefully no earlier than in five years from now!), but only if I really need it, as I feel it is quite dear to just use for any redecorating D.I.Y. job. If you've got no troubled spots on the ceilings of your rooms that need particular attention then it works out much better for you to just use regular white paint. But for anything that requires a bit more T.L.C. to bring it to a good standard - this is a great product to do just that!P.S. I used a brush to apply the paint.

Excellent product
I painted the bathroom ceiling using this product and I am very pleased with the result. Prior to using it, I needed to clean black mould off the ceiling every month during summer and every fortnight during winter with mould remover and a scrubbing brush. Four months after using this paint, there are no signs of any mould on the ceiling and it looks as good as the day I painted it, I used two coats to be on the safe side.I also used it on a bath panel which is difficult to replace because of the size and shape of it, also it was starting to 'yellow' because of its age. I thought I should give it a try with the Zinsser as nothing was lost if it didn't work. The panel now looks good, clean and white. There have been comments on the expense of the paint but for me, it is excellent value for its quality and does exactly what it is supposed to doUPDATE ON REVIEW MORE THAN 1 YEAR LATERSince I used this paint over 1 year ago, I have never had an y mould to scrub off the ceiling. It has never been touched and still looks perfect. The bath panel also looks as good as when I first painted it.

This paint is great as a mould-resistant paint and as a general purpose
After having an absolute disaster using Dulux quick dry satinwood paint I turned to this product after speaking to a professional painter. This paint is great as a mould-resistant paint and as a general purpose, brilliant white, satin-finish paint. I have used this in both situations and would default to it every time going forward.I painted all my door frames in my house, some with varnish still on whilst others were sanded down completely. As the paint is self priming there was no need to sand the doors but I wanted to check if there was a difference with the finish. I am happy to say there is absolutely no difference to the finish! The paint produces a resilient and visually very pleasing satin finish and is very forgiving. See pic.The paint does dry quickly which is another positive - but not on the brush! A single coat looks good but two coats completes a great-looking job - and the second coat goes on even more easily than the first. The price might seem expensive at first (compared to Dulux) but it is worth it - believe me, I don’t anyone to go through the grief I went through stripping Dulux quick dry!!!
