Great for coconuts
Mrs went through a number of flimsy but expensive kitchen axes on nothing else but coconut shells. This is cheaper and solidly built for my use case. No idea for diy useBut it busts trough coconuts (brown and green) no problems just be sure to use a beefy chopping board, I found a a thick 60cmx60cm oak piece from my local timber yard.Only grips are bottom of handle had scuff marks so it was not in pristine condition but blade was clean have’s it a good clean before use

No Doubts very happy with purchase
After reading some of the reports of bad workmanship and finish of these Axes, I was half hearted about making this purchase through Amazon. I have just received the Axe today and I’m blown away with the quality of how nice this axe is actually finished, I am a very Persnickety person so find fault when others can’t and I can’t find any fault in workmanship to this Axes finish and quality, it simply is quality, so don’t listen to the bad reviews on this Axe supplied by Amazon as being poorly made, as yes sometimes there maybe bad product out there from time to time but for the most these Axe are sublimely finished without fault. So Don’t be put off get on and buy one, I would definitely buy another one from Amazon.👍

Fantastic hand axe!
I haven't used it yet but it's got a handle and a sharp blade so I'm figuring that part will go as planned. I wanted a more traditional looking axe rather than some of the more modern ones which I'm sure do the same job, just aren't necessarily as aesthetically pleasing. As someone else commented, the handle has been lacquered so it could well be leather under there but I couldn't be sure - presumably it's far more weatherproof this way and it doesn't bother me. Someone else talked about stickers on the metal - sure there are a couple and it is slightly annoying but a dry cloth and some WD40 soon gets rid of them - there are bigger problems in the world. It's exactly what I was hoping for when I saw the link - definitely not the cheapest but it depends what you're after.

Very good quality
Arrived quickly. No faults: the quality control issues raised in earlier reviews seem to have been addressed. Very comfortable and balanced in the hand:it really sits well in the hand. I wear a 'gardening' glove when I use it so I have that extra grip, but I have problems with my hands. I'm really impressed with this, it's a quality piece of kit.

No headline for me, thank you.
I bought this for specific use as a kindling axe - I have two full length axes and two hatchets, including this one, each having its own use - but over the couple of years since I bought it it's become my go-to for everything south of 'I don't want to risk marring the Gränsfors on that'. I have ABUSED this hatchet over the last two years - I really can't understate how much of a pig I've been to it - and it still holds an edge, is still fit for purpose, and is overall in much better condition than it ought to be with only the odd ding here and there. I know Estwing well, so I shouldn't be surprised - and yet I am. If I ever had to replace it I would buy it again, though I expect it to outlive me. If you ask to borrow a hammer from any tradesman worth his salt there's a reason he'll hand you an Estwing.

What a great little chopper!
The first thing that strikes me is its so pretty! Most hatchets are rather boring and samey! This little beauty is, well beautiful! I have a large old tree trunk in the yard so in no time I was out at it with the new buy. Its not built to take down a forest, but it came very sharp and did a fine job attacking the dead trunk. This hatchet was bought to provide tinder for either a small wood stove or an open fire when camping. I hike every where so its small size and comparatively light weight is ideal. Why pay a fortune on a GBruks mini when you can get a little cracker like this.
