From tasteful subtlety to flat out mad!!
This pedal has a powerful preamp boost, which allows you to dial in as much or as little gain (distortion) as you wish. If you want it to do grunge then it will oblige. Personally I use it to give the guitar a bit more headroom off the guitars own volume knob, especially when using a strat or Tele style guitar. It adds plenty of oomph to whatever sound you prefer to go with, and can be used to great effect without going crazy and turning everything up on full. See photo for my preferred settings. On balance, very good value for money. One very happy customer.

Very good, even disregarding the affordable price
This is just an excellent overdrive pedal, and not only for the price. It's highly dynamic, extremely controllable with the guitar's volume knob. It goes from an almost clean boost to a very organic, beautiful overdrive. The eq is very musical - effective yet tasteful, not at all edgy as it can be on some cheap (or expensive) pedals. If this were sold by a boutique company it would cost five times as much.

Not a bad overdrive
Has masses of gain and level available (more like a distortion pedal at higher levels). The separate bass knob is very useful for adding body to the guitar's tone, but the treble is noisy when boosted. Not the best overdrive, but useful, and good value for money.

Good for the price...
A very good, well made pedal - it's a clone of the highly renowned BB preamp and sounds pretty close to my ears. Particularly useful as a dirty boost for live playing.

Don't waste your money on a BB Preamp
This sounds just as good if not better than a BB Preamp, and it's an amazing and versatile overdrive, for the price this is a real good deal! Just buy one, you won't regret it!

Great singing lead sound
I found it very easy to get a good bright lead sound, broadly in the vicinity of early Santana, which was what I was after. It's not a loose crackling mess, but quite focused. It does have a lot of treble, so you may need to pull that dial down a bit, but it's not an unpleasant or harsh sound. Harmonically quite rich, too.

It sound good
This has been velcroed to my pedalboard and I can’t see it coming off any time soon it has a focused lead sound and a nice crunch when you back off on your guitar volume
