Vox - WAH845 - Classic Wah Pedal

Good wah pedal!

Purists will say this Chinese copy of the original Clyde McCoy (as used by Hendrix) is cheap and nasty and not a patch on the 'Made in USA' wah wah. Well, I'm not a purist - a realist, yes - so I recognise that instruments and kit made in China can be at least as good as US stuff (much made by immigrant labour anyway) and that there is nothing magical about American soil... though many Yanks think there is. My pedal arrived today - one day earlier than forecast which I thought was pretty good. My first impulse was to unscrew the back to have a look at the components. The PCB looked ok and the moving parts seemed adequate - perhaps not as meaty as a vintage pedal but certainly up to the job. So what does it sound like? Before I comment - I would like to say I have seen a simple mod on Youtube to darken the tone of this pedal if it is too bright. Well, it is extremely bright - you might even say brittle. I will make the adjustment tomorrow which simply involves loosening the nut that holds the pot in place and rotating the pot slightly towards the front of the pedal. There is another mod to replace 2 or 3 bits of the circuit but I don't want to take the soldering iron to it if I can help it. So I give it 5 stars on the strength of this mod doing the trick and because I like the look and feel of it - it is a sturdy piece of kit.

Been using this for a while, and its held up well, it is easy to use, and works really well. It's not too big, and has a great sound for the price. Overall, a great alternative to a Cry Baby.

Nice wah pedal very sharp and there in tone but mine stopped working the button isnt engaging and ive only had it since june

This may well be the best... I have modified mine as per the 'Web' and now its even better. No buffer with these, so added a true bypass switch. 56K input R (Gain), 47K R Coil and 2.2K Peak adj. Sounds very similar to original but the gain is now better balanced for On/off bypass. Funny thing is this one Cries as well (Pun really). Surface mount tech so be careful Part numbers don't match schematics (845) either so be very careful. But what a Pedal with or with out the mods. And the the price.... Cast alloy housing as well!

I just got this as a replacement for my Cry Baby, which had started crackling and was seizing up. This is great! Not only is it nice and smooth, I prefer the tone to the Cry Baby too. Only had it about a week so we’ll see how it stands up over time, but so far I’m very happy.

I was a bit disappointed, it seems to work on lower notes and chords although that’s not what it’s for it’s really for lead guitar high notes and the response wasn’t brilliant. Also when switching on my rig sometimes the Wah needs adjustment or there’s no response from other effects , don’t know the cause , has happened a few times . I should have gone for a more expensive model perhaps but it is Vox and a good name .

Got as a replacement for a 70's crybaby that has gone awol, but I wanted something slightly different for when it turns up... (I know it's somewhere but had a gig I needed one for), and the look, quality and sound of this is excellent. TBH, they are the same thing as VOX and Crybaby share dna, but you really cant go wrong. Very happy.

Awesome ! Sounds great ! A little hard to click on and off , but the more you use it , the better it gets

Meglio di quello che immaginavo!!!!! Rapporto qualità/ prezzo eccezionale..... Anche se non ha un escursione esagerata e non ha possibilità di regolazioni il suono mi soddisfa, ed il pedale è essenziale e robusto.ovvio più per amatori che professionisti ( per quelli probabilmente ci sono pedali di fascia più alta) però ripeto per la spesa tanta tanta roba!!!!!

Tolles Wah Wah. Es hat einen angenehmen, weichen Ton und ist nicht so harsch in den Höhen. Kein Brummen, kein Lautstärke unterschied es passt sich super in die Effektschleife ein. Und Preisleistung ist auch top.
