Seagate Expansion Portable 1 TB External Hard Drive HDD – USB 3.0 for PC Laptop (STEA1000400)

I can honestly say this is the best piece of kit out here, I was worried as there were not many people buying this to expand their PS4 memory drive, so I wasn't sure if it would work with mine, I also read that a lot of portable devices required updates via a PC and I am not one for understanding how to do that, I just wanted a simple plug and play, I did some research and the people who purchased this previously were more than happy to help me out here on Amazon via the answer section,I purchased this and I can say it was a simple plug and play, I took it out of the box, switched on my PS4 first, plugged it into one of the USB Ports (make sure you have enough ports or extended ports), the PS4 recognized it, I went to the device section in settings, it asked me if I wanted to use this to save all future games etc and I hit the format button, that simple. It has made such a difference to my basic 500gb PS4, new games download a lot quicker and mean a lot quicker, instead of hours, it can be a few minutes depending on the game to 30 mins or a little more but there is such a difference. It is also very small, so just sits on top of your console. Great addition for my PS4.

Let me start by saying that I wasn't motivated to buy this product through any kind of dissatisfaction with the four separate SanDisk Cruzer Blade Memory Sticks I have purchased over the last two years. But my computer crashed a few months ago and I lost a lot of important files, so I thought it prudent to back up absolutely everything I had. This excellent Seagate Expansion Portable Drive is very user-friendly (my laptop has no problem recognising it) and having such a large memory/storage space I have been able to copy all my word files, music videos, movies, digital artworks, photographs, digital albums, and Playstation Game Captures (which alone come to 47 GB!). This device is so compact and reliable you can take it anywhere. Excellent value for money. Highly-recommended.

Had a look at the pricing structure for all of these portable HDD's. I have noticed that you can obtain computer accessories, such as this external HDD, at a good price if Amazon advertise them as being superficially scratched, or, the packaging is damaged in any way. This is being sold for about £37 and when it arrived I couldn't really find anything visually wrong with it, and it came in its original box, so, I've saved a bit of money, you need to be a bit savvy these days to get a bargain. Nothing wrong with the HDD at all, in fact, I've already filled 25% of it within 3 days with various music and natural history films off the internet, it works like a charm, if you look after these things properly they'll work for ages. My only complaint as such is that I don't think the lead is long enough really, I have to balance the HDD on top of my desktop PC which isn't ideal, but, with it being about 9 inches long it won't stretch any further unless you get an extension for it, so, just be aware of that, apart from that it's a lovely piece of kit, and will store my personal content for many a year..

Small, compact, no issues connecting to laptop, PC, ps4 or even ps5 all transferred over smoothly, quickly. No issues with the extendable hard drive.

I bought this as an external hard drive for my samsung tv to allow me to pause tv and record programs from the tv. One of the main reasons i went for this drive was because it was one of the lighter ones. The lead that comes with the drive is just long enough for the hard drive to rest on its end on my tv cabinet when plugged into the usb port of the tv (40 inch tv). having owned external hard drives before i suspected this might be the case so i went for a hard drive that didn't weigh to much. this has enabled me to fasten the hard drive to the back of the tv using stick on Velcro. Seagate are one of the big names in hard drives so i am hoping for good performance from it. So far i haven't been disappointed. It was detected by the tv automatically and required no setup. its worked well as expected. I also used it for copying some files over on my pc.(windows 10 64 bit) it worked fine detected straight away for a sustained write i was getting speeds of about 125 MB/s.

This is a great product. I use it for my PS4 to allow me to store more games as I have an original model with only 500GB of storage. The short USB wire allows it to sit comfortably under my monitor, and its stylish design allows it to blend in very well. It it smaller than you expect, mine arrived and I was very surprised with its compactness, making it very portable. Though it's plastic design may be a detriment in terms of durability. As long as it is kept safely it will last, I suggest getting a small case if you wish the travel with the hard drive. It didn't really take much setting up to get it to work with my PS4, I plugged it in and the console assisted through getting it setup quickly and easily. I'm sure the same could be said for using it on other devices or consoles. Overall a great product if your looking for extra storage, though its plastic design could potentially be a risk if travelling with it.

Could be a little faster but runs cool, quiet and works straight of the box. I bought it to replace a WD MyBook which no longer had capacity to be used to hold all my backup data. Why go for portable if I've been using an external? Simply because of the convenience and accept that performance will not be as quite as good. It might be worse if I used some overblown application to perform backups. Instead what I use is Winmerge to duplicate a folder structure of user data (not Windows data). The only thing I would say is that the supplied cable is a tad short for the way I work some of the time, with a laptop actually on my lap, and moving (to go and get the nth coffee of the day) the cable would lose connection. As a secondary disk this does not seem to cause problems for Windows or me. In fact the only reason I know it happens is the appearance of the AutoPlay dialogue. when I get back. I bought AmazonBasics USB Cable - 3.0 A Male to Micro B 1.8 m / 6 Feet and that seems to have solved the issue.

I had to replace my old Seagate hard drive when the cat knocked it onto a stone floor and it started making beeping noises and never recovered (the drive, not the cat!). I'm delighted with this new one. It is really neat and compact, in fact I thought the wrong thing had been delivered when I opened it because it was so small. My old drive was large and heavy and had to be upright on the desk (and therefore easy to knock over for a lively cat). This is small, silent, holds 1 TB and takes its power from the computer and therefore doesn't need a separate supply, another big bonus and one less cable and plug needed on my desk. I plugged it in, the iMac recognised it straight away and started to back up and the whole thing was complete in 10 minutes. Even Clive the cat would find it difficult to knock this one on the floor because it simply lies flat right by the keyboard. I've shown the old on the left and new on the right in the photo.

Ho comprato molte cucce in questi anni ma questa è la prima che è veramente impermeabile! La mia cagnolina ci ha fatto la pipì sopra, l'ho sfoderata e sotto era completamente asciutta! Lavata in lavatrice la fodera è uscita perfetta! La ricomprerei!

The product does what it is meant to. Been using it to store ps4 games from ps5 and it has been doing its job. Game Performance is still the same which is a plus.

El espacio que mi hermano tiene en su PS4 original es de 500 GB y como sabrán no es lo suficiente como para tener muchos juegos. Teniendo Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Wars Battlefront II, Uncharted 4 y otros juegos indie su espacio libre básicamente desapareció jaja. Le obsequié este disco duro externo para que pueda tener un poco más de espacio y después de haberme comentado de su experiencia creo que también adquiriré uno para uso propio jeje. A continuación escribo la opinión del producto basado en los comentarios de mi hermano después de haber tenido el producto por casi un mes. Lo que le fue más atractivo a mi hermano obvio fue el espacio adicional que tendría para descargar más juegos (le compré el de 1 TB) El hecho de que también lo pudo configurar por si solo fácil y rápidamente fue otro aspecto muy positivo para el. Básicamente solo tuvo que conectar el disco duro externo al puerto USB frontal #1 de su PS4 y lo detectó de inmediato. Realizó el proceso de formateo (requerido por el PS4) y le indicó a su PS4 que cualquier juego descargado o instalado se almacene en su nuevo disco duro. La única observación que se debe de hacer con respecto al uso del disco duro con un PS4 es que SOLAMENTE lo podrás utilizar con tu PS4 (desconozco si este es el caso con un Xbox) así que no podrás utilizar la mitad del disco para almacen de archivos en general y la otra mitad para juegos de tu play aún así le quieras hacer particiones. -En cuanto a su desempeño mi hermano me comenta que juega sus juegos sin ningún problema. La unidad no se sobrecalienta ni hace ruidos excesivos fuera de lo normal. Lo deja siempre enchufado a su PS4 sin tener que conectarlo y desconectarlo cada vez que la encienda y lo ha leido siempre sin problema alguno. Cumple con todos los requisitos para utilizarlo con un PS4, funciona al 100% y mi hermano está muy contento con la unidad. A mi me alegra que le haya gustado y por su parte lo puedo recomendar a todo aquel comprador que busque ampliar el espacio de almacenamiento de su PS4 :)
