Spear & Jackson 4550DF Traditional Stainless Steel Digging Fork

Great gardening fork. Strong and sturdy. Still going, as it should.

Firstly this is a great garden fork, strong and nice to use. However, 2 years after I bought it, I managed to snap it in half (too much leverage, trying to move a plant). I noticed it had a 10 year guarantee sticker on, tried to contact Amazon, there is no facility on Amazon for customer feedback after 2 years, so I contacted Spear and Jackson. Well their customer service is outstanding. I don't usually write reviews but this made me make the effort. They replied: 'I can see from the pictures and the receipt you’ve attached that you are eligible for a Free of Charge replacement under the 10 year guarantee.' No hassle, no postage fee and now I have a lovely replacement fork.

Great & sturdy item. Have used a few times & everything was fine. My only gripe is that it feels small in the hands. The wooden pole connecting fork to handle is very small.

Another good S&J product, as a garden fork this is really good, just don't dig rocks out of your garden or the spines will bend. Little rocks fine, but I hooked some builders rubble in the corner of my garden and ended up bending 2/4 spines. Fork still works, just annoying to have bent those 2 spines.

Was a replacement for one I had for over 16 years, delivery was good and checking out the new one seems to be just as good for another 16 years.

Really good fork that I somehow managed to catch and break a prong on, however they were happy to send me a new one and honour the 10 year warranty. Kudos!

Absolute rubbish. Please do not waste your money buying this fork and invest in something forged, preferably carbon steel and not welded stainless steel. One of the tines broke off immediately due to a small defect in the corner leading to a fracture. A quality fork, tines will bend and can easily be repaired using a gas torch and a piece of tube for leverage, they should not just snap off!

Diese Spatengabel ist relativ schwer. Wirkt allerdings auch sehr massiv und gut verarbeitet. Erste Versuche (Kartoffel) auszugraben, sehr positiv. Insgesamt guter Artikel

I love this garden fork! It is sturdy and has a lovely streamlined handle design. Tested it and it works well.

I purchased this to replace my Spear & Jackson Neverbend Digging fork of two decades use ( and the tine bent due the user, not the tool ) and I'm very pleased. It is handsome and sturdy. Excells at turning compost and soil over. And digs well too. I would say, if you have rocks and clay or hardpan, I would consider the less attractive, less expensive Neverbend Professional Digging Fork. It served me well under such harsh conditions.

Personalmente ho utilizzato il forcone per rivoltare il terreno argilloso del giardino che col tempo era diventato duro. Ho dato 5 stelle perché è servito tantissimo per la comodità d’uso. Ottima fattura e materiale di alta qualità. Lo consiglio.
