Excellent 8" wood rasp
I bought this rasp after reading the reviews and I wasn't disappointed.I am making a guitar body from 40mm thick Maple. Now Maple is a very hard wood so working with it is a challenge.Using this rasp to put some shape into the body was much easier than I had hoped for. Roughly sawn to shape, the rasp was used to further remove wood and final shape the guitar body, finishing with grades of glasspaper.A great tool and perfect for this use.

Cuts well
Used to ease a door that was binding on the sill. Made an easy job of the task as I didn't need to remove the door.

What a tool!
Quite simply the best tool I’ve ever bought for less than £7. Took 2-3mm off the top of a pine door while it was in situ in less than 10 minutes. Bargain buy! Great value and I imagine it’ll last a while

Great rasp for a very low price.
I bought this because my cheap 4-in-1 rasp simply wasnt removing enough material. Im reshaping a generic Faithful Hickory axe handle, and need to really dig in and file off some wood in a few places. Just gave this rasp a try and it is a peach. It is literally removing material 5-6 times as fast, and really bites in, on what is fairly hard, seasoned wood. Considering its SO incredibly cheap, this is an absolute gem of a purchase. I think I might buy a second one just as a back up.Regarding another customers comment about the file separating from the handle .... with absolute respect, this is NOT a problem. Most modern files with synthetic handles are NOT glued in and SHOULD be removable from the handle with a hard tug, and are only kept in place by friction. The logic is, you only use the file/rasp on the forward stroke, lift, re-position, and repeat. This motion constantly pushes the file into the handle, therefore it doesnt need to be "glued" into the handle as its constantly being pushed into place. The only reason the file will get tugged out is if you are "scrubbing" the file or rasp. This is when you set the file in place, and just scrub back and forth. This is a terrible, lazy and destructive way to use a file or rasp, and wears it out really fast. Stroke-lift-reposition-repeat.Wonderful product for the price. It would still be wonderful if I paid 10 quid. Recommended
