We live on the southeast coast and consume a fair amount of oysters. We have found these to be the most durable and effective knives for shucking. It’s the thin blade with the upturned tip that’s key. The handle is just the right shape and offers a good grip. Throw them in the dishwasher and they’re like brand new.

I bought a 2-Pack instead of a single piece in case I damage one after which I will still have an extra to work with. It was also a good value as it was $20 for the two. On close inspection of the knife, I found the edge of the knife too dull for my liking, so I sharpened before putting it to use. After shucking a dozen oysters, I got the hang of it and now I can do it within several seconds using this tool. A great buy and I am extremely happy with it...

the curved tip is outstanding, have used both the curved tip and straight tip, it is personal preference, but I like the curve. Great knife, durable, well worth the money.
