It works with window too!!
This is a great bit of kit with two in one function. I purchased this as I had a new Dell laptop (now returned!!) which had no RJ-45 socket for the ethernet. Although this was marketed for Mac, I purchased it as it looked like a few other items listed and fairly generic so it does work with Windows 10 (& 8). I also took a stab that the log was photo-shopped on there and it was.The Item is quite tidy and of a nice quality. It has a nice silver-lustre finish and a reasonable cable length. In both windows 10 & 8, it worked as plug and play, connect via cable at a good speed. The USB ports are unpowered, so suitable for for flash drives or powered external drives etc.If you are not connected to a network, it can show up as a drive with a crab-like icon and ask you what you want to do with it. Simply disconnect, reconnect and it goes away.Really pleased with it and would recommend it.

Won't be getting another of these
Worked fine for 6 months, started to dropout when hot (it gets quite hot) now doesn't work at all. Got a full refund from Amazon. Excellent customer service.

Fast data speeds, reliable, sturdy
I bought this for use in University halls, I started University a few months ago and the WiFi is incredibly slow and unreliable. My Dell XPS 15 has no Ethernet port and an annoying lack of USB ports - so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and buy this. It's a USB 3.0 hub meaning you will get fast data transfer speeds through both the USB ports and Ethernet port. I ran a speedtest and the transfer speeds are incredibly fast, it fully achieves my Uni halls Gigabit internet speeds. The three USB ports are also USB 3.0, however as there is no method for auxiliary power input you are limited as to what you can plug in. For example, if you plugged in three high-power-draw devices like Hard Drives, DVD readers, USB fans etc then you are likely to experience power or reliability issues as it will draw too much power from your computer's one USB port. However, if you will use it for low-power-draw devices like USB Flash drives, mice, keyboards etc then you won't have any problems. The hub itself, as well as the cable and male USB port feel sturdy and well built, so I imagine they would last ages even if kept in your bag and used every day. Some other reviewers complained about unreliable Ethernet/drop-outs, I haven't experienced this at all and have been using it for weeks now - it just works. Another mentioned that it gets "worrying heat" - I didn't experience this either. If you make large downloads, or stream content, it will get a little warm - but not hot and not worryingly warm either.

Works with Mac
Great product, looks nice and sleek. Works well with my Mac. Only downside is the fact that it heats up within 1 min of use. It gets hot which i don't know if i should be worry about or not. Apart from that works fine

Nicely made.
The idea is a good one, but I couldn't get my BT to stream onto my laptop via an ethernet cable (poor wifi) with any great success. I can't say its the products fault, its nicely made and suitably compact ,it just hasn't helped my achieve what I wanted. If you are after a product of this type I would say its a good choice. I had looked at many of the alternatives before choosing this one.

NOT as picture!
Not as picture, mine arrived as a Gigabit. 3 Port MACBOOK. But works with my Surface book, installed ok, Ethernet speed slightly better than wireless but around half that of my other laptop (with it's own Ethernet port)Wireless I was getting 23.97 Mb/s / 5.83 Mb/s (on the day) using the hub supplied I managed 37.46 / 7.35. Using other laptop on Ethernet (Sony) I was getting 68.7 /6.02I know speed checker not perfect but just an indicator. I feel I wasted my time reading reviews as Amazon sent me this one, it is a Realtek chip so probably similar to the others and it does have an aluminium outer case. :-(

Perfect
Used on an early 2014 MacBook Air, perfect solution, plug and play the 3.0 ports can power external HDDs, Ethernet works within seconds.Well made, perfect for use on the road, visiting customer sites without reliable Wi-Fi.Note, the hub doesn't have a static or flashing LED to indicate Ethernet status and activity. However, you can download a free App from the Apple Store that shows the connectivity status, so not really a deal breaker.Ordered a 2nd one for a second MacBook.

Works great with Windows and does work with Apple CKK and an iPad
Very well made kit. Works well on laptops. Ethernet is Gigabit - faster than 10/100 that came with my Windows 10 tablet. As a bonus I tested it and found it works great with an iPad and the Apple Lightning to USB3 camera connection kit adapter. If you're using an iPad for live streaming then this adapter has more features than the official Apple USB>Ethernet adapter and is cheaper.
