This product arrives spot on time and despite the fact that the fist spate of snow had gone, I was not disappointed as a new wave soon followed. I began by simply dragging my little four year old around to the shops and park - low friction and an easy job. But then the fun started as soon as we found a slope of any type - on we'd go and away! The break works well as long as you use it early and prolonged. Don't expect to whiz down a slope, see a tree and effect a perfect emegency stop. The sledge is robust and seems very safe. A great buy.Not sure about educational value unless your youngsters need to know about friction coefficients or are studying velocity but I'd certainly give it marks for fun.

Bought this sledge after the snows at the start of 2010 and looked at it propped up in the garage thinking this is one awesome looking sledge but with the summer stretching ahead there was no way of knowing if looks were deceiving. Well it's the end of November 2010 now and the snow has well and truly arrived. And I have to tell you this sledge is beyond awesome. It moves down the slopes like a dream. Steering is easy with the metal brakes and stopping is easy - no more face full of snow as you dig your feet in the snow to stop. Today I had the satisfaction of shooting past a snowboarder who had overtaken everyone else on the hill as he came to a halt - and that with one of my children on board with me. If you have to sell one of your children to buy this sledge - do it. If you have to sell everything you own - do it! If Heineken made sledges this is the sledge they would make. If I had the money I would buy the company I am so impressed!
