Superbly engineered and integrated into Ableton. Already pushing my creativity. For such a simple product its really rather incredible. Pretty sturdy for a plastic controller, well designed and suprisingly deep with access to an enormous amount of features without touching the keyboard. Highly recommended.

What can I say... I love this toy!!! It’s so fun to play with it, easy to control. It’s my favourite toy for now 😁 But.. Its not really a toy. Well build, feels pretty premium. I like it, because it's made not only for live performances, you can easily record everything you played. So.. I LOVE AKAI APC40MK2👏👍 worth every single penny. Thank you.

Probably the best controller for Resolume and great for Ableton. So pleased they have resumed production after discontinuing a couple of years ago.

What can I say tip top

Even if you are not musically trained, so long as you are not tone deaf and you can tap a foot to a beat, if you want to make a jingle, some music for a picture slideshow or go onto being famous touring the world, you can do everything with this and the software. Not just the usual electronic music, only your imagination limits you. From classical to experimental music and everything in between. So many music samples you can use with this free online or compose your own using your computer keyboard. You will not regret buying this. Just youtube some videos on how to use it and it is so easy. Sussed mine out in two days.

Good build quality, works just like expected. Buttons are a bit stif, so are the faders except the A/B translation fader.

I am using it with Resolume Avenue on a mac. Quite Easy to Map, has midi out so i know what buttons are active, sensible layout. Enough knobs, faders and buttons for everything i need.

The item was as new - can't be faulted. Sadly some of the software had been redeemed. Many thanks to Akai Pro the re- registered the device and resolved it. Only 3 stars to Amazon because of this potential disaster🫥

Best controller

This will change the way you perform with Ableton. It's geared more towards Session View, but it can be used for Arrangement View as well. It's much more intuitive than the Ableton Push, with dedicated faders buttons for each track. If you've used Ableton and have been using the mouse to adjust tracks on/off, Solo, Record, Stop, etc, this will make your Sessions so much easier and allow you to get much more creative. Less time spent searching the screen for these buttons, they're all laid out right in front of you. Being able to turn multiple tracks on and off is a game changer. The A/B slider will also let you showcase tracks that you've armed accordingly. Want only the cool bass line to come through while you're readying other tracks? Press the B button on the track, and hit the slider over to B. Isolated bass line. This works for multiple tracks, so you can have 2 completely different songs playing with the slide of the A/B fader. Big selling point. This controller will open up a whole new world of possibilities for you in Ableton.

I’ve wanted an apc40 for a very long time and decided last night to just order the MKII model. First of all I have never had an item shipped faster. I ordered this item around 3 am and had it on my doorstep by noon. Holy moly and what an amazing job getting it so fast. I would say as far as the midi launchpad goes this is one of the top ones you can get especially for its price. I mean it’s a steel and pulling it out of the box. I’ve had a lot of equipment before and it generally is cheaper. You know it’s it’s soft plastic. It just doesn’t feel very solid. However, this piece feels extremely solid. I mean it’s just it’s just a great piece of hardware overall now as far as functionality goes, I was able to plug it into my computer and start using it on Ableton without even having to set up any configuration so that’s a big plus if if you’ve ever had a configure something to a DAW program You know sometimes it can be a pain in the rear. It is a perfect size. It allows you to quickly go through and select any loops or tracks that you have created or are mixing so this would be great for both production uses and possibly DJ uses, which is something I wouldn’t dive into, but it definitely has that functionality in the picture. You can see it sitting on my lap so it’s not very huge. It’s very easy to move around, which is great for me because I have a couple keyboards that I use as well which I will be using this pad to start the recording process on the keyboard so I like to be able to move around with it on my lap. I think I think this thing is perfect. I can’t believe I waited so long to buy it.
