Seaweed Powder 1Kg Organically Sourced in the UK

This product is ORGANIC seaweed powder. The species of seaweed is called Ascophyllum nodosum (or A. nodosum for short). The product is supposedly not intended for human consumption but I believe that this is stated only because the Seller is not licensed to sell the product as food. I see absolutely no reason why an organic seaweed cannot be consumed by human beings.I give this A. nodosum powder to my cats in their food for two reasons: Firstly it provides additional minerals in their diet and ; secondly A, nodosum contains an enzyme which reduces the amount of plaque deposited on the teeth. The plaque reducing enzyme also works on human beings and I take it myself for that reason.I feed my cats 500 mg per cat, per day and for myself I take 1 gram per day. Research has demonstrated that 500 mg of A. nodosum taken daily reduces plaque on human teeth by 52%. If one does an internet search, a number of scientific papers can be found that show plaque and calculus reduction in dogs and human beings and I believe the effect should not be different for any other mammal. I actually don't consume this powdered A. nodosum product myself but use a different organic A. Nodosum product, which is ironically meant for dogs and cats. The reason I take the latter product for myself is because it is a granular product, rather than a powder, and I find the granular product easier to take with some water. Once again however, organic seaweed is organic seaweed, the same as an organic apple is an organic apple, whether it is sold for animal or human consumption or topical application. It is the same vegetable matter regardless of the label that someone chooses or is required by some regulation to put on the packaging. Note well that there are no species of seaweed anywhere in the world that are not safe for human consumption.Use your own judgement as to whether you feel comfortable consuming the product orally. I myself have never used this product externally, so I can speak as to its efficacy when used in that way. I gave the product 5 stars for flavour because for me I don't care what something tastes like if it has health benefits and my cats have never complained about the taste. LOL! :)I give 5 stars to this product.

Very good, pure seaweed. I use it for face and hair masks. You can really smell the seaweed and the quantity will last a very long time, as you dont need much for singular use.

Skin feels lovely and soft after use, works out about £1 a bath- which is cheap, but stinks! Bathroom will smell and green ring appears after use. White baths especially need to invest in bleach!

this is full of minerals and cure digeative problema and uniray tract infections. It also cured my major throid problem. It has layers of where minerals and obtain and made amongst a position that is held to go amongst you digestion auatem to coat and realease the minerals which makes you strong. This has the best of foundations. Thia help me lose wieght by cure my digeative problems. This filter your body to a position where it can seap with so much glory, the taste is not harsh it well soft to the touch and taste decent.

This product is sold under the Vitamins and Supplements section with a lot of confusing information. Thinking it was as good as my usual Seaweed supplement (for my dogs) I bought it. Even the info on the bag talks of different cultures using seaweed powder for bread, animal feed, brandy and dessert. I was about to feed them when I noticed on the bottom of the bag - Do not consume. For external use only.This is extremely confusing and potentially dangerous.The product is intended for use in the bath and as a skin product.I contact the seller but have had no response. I also contacted Amazon who instantly dealt with my point in a very friendly and efficient manner. Thanks Amazon!

Bacteria from this seaweed breaks teeth tartar. We give it to our dogs every day. A couple of months after we started giving it to them I noticed a huge change in health of their teeth. Amazing value for money. Same seaweed branded as dog friendly would cost 5x more.

This product stinks really bad, but it is a nice treatment on the skin.

Great in the bath I also add a bunch of seasalt. So refreshing and soaks up all negative energy- great grounded feeling after. I have been adding to smoothies too even tho it says not edible. Its fine. I figure well when i used to go swimming in ocean alot i wd swallow bit seawater and all that comes with it. Feel great. This is very fine ground powder and dissolves nicely in bath
