AUDIXi5 All-Purpose Professional Dynamic Instrument Microphone

I took my time and did some pretty extensive research before buying this (my first) mic. Having done about a billion gigs before, but rarely requiring amplification I needed to take the plunge and get my own for a series of recent performances.I play a 1967 Conn Mellophonium. A kind of a bell front French Horn with small bore .500'' trombone like characteristics sound wise (Think Stan Kenton c1967). I have to say that the Audix is absolutely spot on for this horn, whilst not specifically designed for horn use either.The Mellophonium can totally obliterate a band in the wrong hands, delivering some pretty hardcore if potentially nasty power output especially above the staff and above written high C. Exciting certainly, but not always so subtle! This mic took all of this energy easily in its stride, highlighting exactly what I wanted response wise and respecting the rest sound wise. Its incredibly well built and robust plus it looks decent too.Whilst I realise that not many bands like mine feature a Mellophonium, I would nigh on guarantee that the i5 will make a great trombone microphone without a doubt. It is also very sensibly priced I thought for a first purchase like mine.

This is a bonafide professional quality great microphone. Better than an SM57. I have mine right on the cone of a too loud valve guitar amp and it's crystal clear. I'm an Audix convert. Comes with a durable carrying case with enough room for the supplied clip and another microphone. Solid build quality. No scrimping on cheap components here. Absolutely spot on.

I have replaced our Shure SM57 mic on the snare with the Audix and recordings are crisp and clear. I will eventually replace the other SM57 mics used on the toms with this or similar Audix mic.Great quality - great price!

These mics have always been in my kit. They are reliable and brilliant for Snare and Guitar's in particular. Plus they are good value compared to SM57s.

Sm 57 clone..I have very good results on drums with this dynamic microphone..mid priced sm 57 Clone microphone..

I use this mic and the Shure SM57 interchangeably. As instrument mikes. I'm not sure which one I like better.

Es un buen micrófono, es más corto que la mayoría de dinámicos por lo que se puede acomodar bastante bien en un tambor o amplificador de guitarra.La respuesta de frecuencia le da un carácter moder y casi "pre ecualizado" por lo que en eventos en vivo es muy útil

Nutze das Audix i-5 um sowohl Haupt- als auch Sidesnare abzunehmen. Das Mikrofon leistet das was es soll. Für den Preis unschlagbar. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Ho desiderato questo microfono per un bel po di tempo e quando l'ho trovato in offerta qui su amazon l'ho preso subito.Il suo elevato SPL lo mette in condizione di adattarsi a tutti gli strumenti che richiedono un microfono dinamico (Amplificatori per chitarra, per basso, Rullanti) senza mai tirarsi indietro e la sua risposta in frequenza rende tutto un po' più crispy (cosa che io adoro) con un piccolo boost intorno ai 5-10khz avendo come risultato delle chitarre distorte da leccarsi i baffi e rullanti belli croccanti :D.D'altro canto con la sua bassa sensibilità non è adatto alle registrazioni vocali e si dimostra scomodo per le voci live in quanto bisogna tenerlo ad una distanza ben precisa per evitare di avere un segnale troppo debole per la lontananza o di saturare per la troppa vicinanza.In conclusione, per quello che l'ho preso io e per i miei gusti, questo microfono è fantastico e lo consiglio a tutti quelli che hanno necessità di registrare chitarre, rullanti etc. ad altissima qualità e se non siete convinti tenete presente anche lo Shure SM57, troverete un sacco di video su internet che mettono a confronto questi due mostri cardioidi.
