Great kitchen utensil.

It’s said that a plastic sieve is better for use with kefir and this does the job well provided the kefir is not thick. Perfect for water kefir. The mesh is fine enough. The plastic frame is a bit flimsy but good enough.

Definitely one of the best value for money strainers that I could find and has worked brilliantly for all my needs. I bought this for use with primarily cool liquids but my wife has used it to skim the top of soup as it heated and (despite my fears) the mesh was resiliant to the heat and did not melt for which I was impressed! The strainer also has two hooks that, coupled with the handle, form a Y shaped brace that hooks onto the rim of the bowl and keeps the strainer in place.

I purchased this to strain my home fermented kefir, but did not find it practicable for the task. The curd kept blocking up the fine holes and the kefir was taking forever to run through (even though I was stirring it). I have since purchased a plastic colander with a handle (brand: Hobby) which has larger holes all over, but the holes are small enough to hold back all the grains, even the small ones. It's perfect for the job, the kefir runs through much quicker. For anyone interested you can buy these colanders on Amazon, but the colour range is limited (only seem to have lime green at the time I am writing this review). I brought mine on another well known online platform in a nice shade of baby blue.

Just the right size

Small strainer thought bigger, but only for leaves in bird bath. Rust free , with £2 .

Great for the price

Das Sieb hat eine schöne Qualität und wird regelmäßig für das abgießen von Kefir genutzt. Hier darf man kein Edelstahl oder Ähnliches benutzen, von daher ist das Material perfekt dafür geeignet. Ist auch sehr leicht sauber zu halten.
