The perfect bag for a geek
This bag is the first bag I go to if I want a smallish bag to carry my "Geek Toys". The main compartment is just big enough for a 15" Macbook Pro Retina and an I-pad is the perfect size for either the front compartment or the hydration space next to the back. Mobile phones can either fit into the small pocket on the strap (my Galaxy Note just fits in so most other phones shouldn't have a problem) or into the fleece lined "sun glasses" pocket. The main compartment is deep enough for a DSLR and the multitude of pockets and dividing spaces means it is childsplay to find the accessory you want. The bag is very comfortable (even with all the items above in it) and if you shorten the shoulder strap, it is possible to carry it over 1 shoulder. This bag really comes into its own when travelling and a quick pull of the strap means that everything is right in front of you and accessible.

A Quality Product
This is my urban EDC bag and is used almost on a daily basis along with my 5.11 push bag. And 5.11 foldable scrunchy type bag. This bag has travelled with me extensively across Egypt for the last year; it's tough! You can put it over either shoulder but I cut off the strap offering right shoulder wear to cut back on weight and improve space a little, I've customised mine further with moral patches and a portapow single plate solar panel...I now have a multi purpose EDC bag that can charge my phone, tablet, battery charger, desk fan and USB LED lamp... A word of caution....customising this urban military grade bag in the way I've described will draw attention from EgyptIan customs and secret police, who'll quickly discover they want one too... For you American types there's a hidden pocket that will service your Glock. .. I put other stuff in that and to date its a pocket that has never been discovered on any customs type search...so best to disclose it and they'll like you all the more for it. It's not the biggest bag and it's meant to cover your needs for 10 hours hence it's name...but with careful planning you'll get a lot more in it ... I love it. Don't be American; don't stuff it with all manner of apocalypse ready zombie killer stuff or you'll hate wearing it quickly... I review my carriage in accordance with my daily needs and location ie, in the UK I carry a foldable brolly a tac torch tac pen and a foldable jacket...In Egypt I carry a hydration pack, soap and a baton etc etc. Good quality American product. Highly recommended Hope this helps.

A compact bag with a practical design and rugged construction!
I purchased this bag for commuting to university, and it's proved ideal. The single-strap sling design makes it easy to rotate it around to the front for sitting down on the tube and accessing items on the go, and it holds an A4 document case and three or so textbooks with no problems. A 17" 'desktop replacement' laptop might not fit, but 13-15" computers should be fine. An iPad slips into the rear pocket if you don't want to use that for a hydration bladder (or ballistic plate...) The front pouch can hold a book, writing implements and odds and ends, while the fleece-lined sunglasses pocket is good for... well, guess! There is a Velcro-secured port for the drinking tube of a hydration bladder, but if used it prevents effective use of the sunglasses pocket. There's a palm-sized zippered pouch at the top of the strap - you'd think it would be ideal for a mobile phone or camera but it ends up behind you when the bag is worn, so it isn't very accessible in practice. It has a port for a headphone plug, though. The bag is very handy to carry, either slung diagonally or over one shoulder backpack-style for short distances. The strap is well padded, but I wouldn't want to use it for heavy loads or while running. The design is fully ambidextrous, there's an attachment point for the main strap on either side - good news for southpaws. The bag doesn't tend to slip down on me and the strap doesn't rub against my neck. (I'm 5'9" with wide shoulders.) Some reviewers *cough*Americans*cough* love the hidden Velcro-secured pocket between the two main sections. It can hold a full-framed Glock-17, which is apparently a jolly good thing, Me, I just stow a water bottle in there, it's easy to get at. The bag is covered with MOLLE webbing for adding extra pouches and stowage. I prefer to keep my bag compact and streamlined, but it's nice to have the option and the webbing looks pretty cool. I'm a fan of the three Velcro areas (one on strap pouch, two on back) and it's fun to switch out morale patches. Variety is the spice of life, and all that. Now, one question that has perplexed potential 5.11 purchasers through the ages is: 'What the heck is Double-Tap?' As someone who took the chance and ordered the MOAB 10 in this colour, I can reveal that the bag's nylon fabric is a very nice dark grey, while the MOLLE webbing and other fixtures are black. It's basically "black, but not so boring". No regrets! A great bag for commuting, and I look forward to using it for day hikes and as a carry-on too. As the satisfied owner of the 5.11 Rush 24 backpack, it's also nice to have the ability to attach the MOAB 10 to its big brother with the included straps. So, the MOAB 10: a lot of bag for your buck!

The very best ...
Yes another amazing product from 5.11 Yes they are expensive but look at the reviews. Everyone says the same thing. These packs are the very best I've come across and that's saying something as I've used everything from Services equipment when I was in right through to top of the line TUMI and others and this is the best. The straps and materials are brilliant. Everything fits perfectly, there's so much configuration control and this one is perfect for work as I throw my 13" laptop in here and a bundle of A4 document packs and it all slots in no problem. There's also a couple of hidden and concealed spots that allow you to keep something's out of view and people finding it without them being very thorough and systematic. The bag can even carry a fluids bladder ! I'm gushing a bit here but this is my second bag and it's not my last either. I'm really starting to like this company and the superb level of quality. They say you get what you pay for ... well you definitely do in this case. The only negative point is the comms pack on the strap won't take an iPhone 6+. Really was very very surprised by this as 5.11 just don't miss a trick when it comes to their kit.

Great pack. Heavy though but I guess thats because its rugged
Well made with lots of handy pockets. Comfortable to carry too. I bought a molle water bottle holder to use with it and the fixings work well. Its heavy though, even with nothing in it.

High quality pack.
After using a cheap molle sling bag for a while to see if the sling style suited my use it decided to upgrade to something good. The quality of the pack is great, every clip and zip feels like a solid build and there is a good amount of space and pockets to make this a great day bag for work but quickly adaptable to be a great hiking pack. The strap is well padded and the back of the pack has gripping material in the right places so it doesn't move when you are but doesn't stop you whipping the pack around to your front for quick access. There are some great detailed vids on YouTube that are worth a look if you're considering this pack. Highly recommended.

Just the job
I’ve been after a decent everyday backpack for ages. I’m retired and one of those weird people who like to carry a waterproof, some small binoculars, a camera, sketchbook, pencils, sit-mat etc. and have room in the bag for anything else I might pick up as I wander aimlessly round. I love urban sketching and apart from hill walking where I need a proper pack, I also do some easy short walks on the flat (up to about 5 miles) so a decent pack that would satisfy both needs (town and country) would be an added bonus. Out of interest I already owned a 5.11 Tactical Rush so my experience with the 5.11 series was well established before I bought the MOAB. I’ve been using a Tamrac 5534 camera bag designed for an SLR and four lenses as my bag of choice – it’s a messenger type bag but not too big and it just about took all my bits and pieces. However, I saw that 5.11 had a shoulder sling bag and knowing how good the Rush 12 was I bought it. It’s excellent. Something unique is the ambidextrous sling-style shoulder strap, accommodating either a left or right-handed user. The bag can also be spun around from the back to the chest while being worn, making it easy to work out of, or to access what the advertising blub calls “the hidden weapon pocket”. If you go on You Tube you’ll see a few videos introducing the bag. The “hidden weapon pocket” is between the front main pouch and the main compartment and is closed with Velcro. On You Tube the demonstrators show how it takes a gun (typical American) and if I make a short film I’ll show how it takes a sketchbook and pencils! It’s all about being quick on the draw isn’t it? I like the buckle system on the base that takes a jacket, the lined pocket for your glasses and the way the pocket openings can be in just the right place no matter whether you’re right or left handed. A lot of thought has gone into this bag. I also prefer it to the Tamrac because the shoulder strap is wider and less wearing when the bag’s heavy. On the downside the special pocket on the top of the bag for your phone or MP3 player is too small for the iPhone 6 (the normal one) which is a shame because there’s an outlet for headsets. You’ll also need a rain cover for the bag – there isn’t one provided. Apart from that you could nit-pick at minor things but overall it’s excellent. The flag and name tape Velcro patches is an new one for me so I’ve bought some Union Jacks and a couple of funnies from the web so they get used. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It’s here to stay. Does anyone want to buy my Tamrac?

My go to day pack for trips
this is a fantastic looking and practical bag it took a while to get comfortable using it at first I did feel the buckle digging in as i have read in other reviews but once I got it sitting properly it's great. I only wish it had a stabilisation strap it just seems incomplete without one. Also the comms pouch is tiny it will fit my samsung s7 barely but you can't fit headphones plugged into it as well and it's awkwardly placed that you can't really get to it without taking the bag off but it's great if you have wireless headphones. The sunglasses pouch is great but quite tight so you have to be carefull placing glasses in as not to scratch the frames on the zips.

Bandolera MOAB 10 Inmensa, excelente calidad
