KitchenCraft Le'Xpress 1-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker, 6 ml - Aluminium

Compared with the many expensive super automated coffee makers available, this simple gadget which goes on a hob, is very good value. It makes excellent coffee - depending on the quality and quantity of the coffee you put in. I have had several over the years. The size indication is a joke though. My new 9 cup (tiny espresso cups?) machine makes four cups but how big is a cup? Do check the ml figure before you buy. The design is the same for all sizes but the quality is a bit hit and miss. The new silicone washer seals better than the old sort, but if you tighten the two parts too tightly to prevent seepage as pressure builds up, you might use the handle as lever and if you do this, it will ultimately lead to the end: the handle breaks off. I am very happy with this one. Hopefully all new production is of this quality.

My daughter has had one of these things for years and wondered for years how it worked and was it just for espresso. So far I have seen them used on gas, electric radiant rings, glass top (do not use on induction), petrol stoves and primus stoves.After a little research I found the answer to my dreams. No more glass jug with a plunger type coffee make. no more messy filter papers. No expensive coffee maker machine. All I needed all the way long was one of these little babies. NOTE: Available in 3 cup, 6 cup and 9 cup sizes (cups are measured in espresso size).Being a tight wad II bought one of the cheapest I could find that had decent reviews. I paid £8.67 for the aluminium looking 3 cup size model knowing it was only good enough for one decent mug of coffee at a time.It arrived 2 days after ordering and was probably the best packed item I have received. It came in a small box that only just fitted the around the manufacturer's packaging. May as well have put a postage label on the makers box and ship it like that.Following other reviewers I washed the pot out with hot soapy water and the in hot water and sodium bicarb.It says in the instructions not to fill above the valve line in the water container. I usually disregard this safety ti and fill to ½ way above it. So far so good. The metal coffee holder which sits snug on top of the water container holds more than enough coffee for one decent sized cup of coffee. I use 2 very heaped teaspoons of ground coffee but others may one more or less depending on taste. I like strong black coffee.The base (and coffee holder) screw into the top container easily but need to be fully tightened. Heating takes only a few minutes until the magic bubbling can be heard. Reminded me of the sounds just like my old percolator I use to use back in the 80's.It only takes a minute to finish brewing. Pouring is no problem once you get use to it. A few drips at first but with a little practice no drips whatsoever. Washing the machine out is a breeze but I tend to just rinse and wash out once a day.Nearly forgot: the machine comes with a spare silicone sealing ring.In summary:-A cheap percolator that comes in varying sizes that can be used on a variety of heating sources apart from not induction. Does what it is meant to do and does it well. No need to pay more for a better looking design for what will basically be the same item.Happy brewing!!

First of all, the maxim "you get what you pay for" definitely springs to mind. Many reviewers are saying that this caffettiera is "cheap and nasty" to look at. They are right. It looks a tad tacky too when you get up close and personal with it.However, looks aside, this coffee maker makes an excellent espresso. It works just as well as the Bialetti caffetteria, and the only reason why I bought this was because I accidentally destroyed my Bialetti one day when I forgot to put water in it. Mine works fine on a standard gas stove, so I'm not sure why others with a gas stove are having issues. It also seems to percolate twice as fast as my late Bialetti, without compromising taste - not sure what's going on, but I'm not complaining.I rate this item 4/5 - it loses one star for its tacky looks. But it makes a great espresso so I'm definitely happy; and since most of my friends have never even used one of these things before, they all think it's an attractive item!

A gift for the coffee addict of our family, I had read several reviews that were derogatory but I am glad I went with this product despite the poor reviews.I admit that it is not built like a battleship, but I am always puzzled by people expectations, as this is not expensive. if you require battleship build quality then you should be looking at espresso makers three to five times the price of the Le'Xpress.Four months from receipt of the Le'Xpress we have found it to be an excellent espresso maker. Yes the lid hinge and handle would likely fail if subjected to a high level of abuse, ours in still intact it is used daily, often two or three times a day, no real special care is given to it but we do not throw it around which we find helps most kitchen equipment last longer and we never subject it to our dishwasher. All in all I would recommend this item, in fact I just have.

First one we received we had to send it back after the handle broke just by opening it. We asked for a second one as we considered it was probably deceptive. Second one is lasting for now, but we are already looking to replace it with a new one. Some of the edges are too sharp and it is easy to get cut when cleaning it. The filter is not good enough, water gets stuck inside and you need to shake it repeately to ensure it's emptied. The coffee is good, yes, you get 4-5 cups, but it's not a quality product. We will spend some more next time.

I don't tend to leave product reviews. I buy simple things on the internet, they arrive and they do the job they're supposed to. Nobody's going to read a review about how a pen works or how the stamps that arrived were so good at sending letters it was worth 5 stars as opposed to 4.I'm going to leave this review as a play by play of what happened tonight. The reason for purchasing this is due to my other espresso maker being too small for a decent drink and the espresso machine being too loud and needy in terms of cleaning.So on Monday I ordered this six cup espresso maker with Prime for a 1 day delivery of Wednesday which makes sense of course. As per usual I arrived home today to find it didn't arrive. 19:15 I heard some banging downstairs and saw the delivery guy making a run for it (I too, would be embarrassed if I had to deliver this little shocker). By 19:20 I had unpackaged this good looking thing and was largely impressed with its shinyness - a sure sign of quality coffee-brewing-engineering surely? We'll see, so I stuck it on a medium heat with the handle carefully away from the flame and left it while I went to microwave some beans. As the reassuring gurgling began I was met with an unpleasant smell and to my horror the handle had straight up melted off. The gas wasn't even on high and the handle was far away from the flame. Rubbish.Annoying? Yes but it is what it is, I'm too lazy to send it back; I need a coffee. So I grabbed the nearest tea towel and poured what I expected to be a cup or two or six ...only to find half a large mug's worth... To be fair a good amount of it ended up on the floor because the spout is just as bad as the handle. And the coffee, while good (Don't take any credit Le Xpress, it was a decent roast) definitely had hints of burnt plastic.I would rather attempt to brew coffee with my bare hands over a medium heat, then use this again. I don't have fire retardant hands or anything but I think the burns and general discomfort, hospital visits and lack of hand use for a few months would be less effort than making a coffee again in this thing.If a competitor to Le Xpress is reading this, I wouldn't worry - a toddler with some Brio could do better.And I've just received an email saying my parcel has been delivered whoopee.

So many of these little aluminium coffee makers are supplied with a lousy rubber seal which either doesn't seal or falls out when you invert the top-half of the machine to screw it on - or both. The problem with this is that you lose half (or most) of the water and not enough pressure and subsequent heat builds to force the flavour out of the coffee grounds.The seal in this machine is a good quality rubber and a good fit so does the job well. Lots of pressure builds up when on a high heat and this results in a good thick coffee. The maker produces the equivalent of a good double espresso when filled to the little copper safety screw in the water chamber and the coffee at this volume is a bit thinner. Just the right strengh coffee and just the right amount for an espresso or to dump into a half-mug of hot full-fat mild.A good tip for perfectionists and those in a hurry is to boil the water before putting it into the water chamber. Obviously you have to hold the chamber with a towel in order to screw the top half on but the result is coffee within about 30 seconds of placing the pot on the stove and also a better flavour because the dry coffee isn't super-heated by the stove before the water boils and passes through.Perfect!

I read so many reviews before buying it and was afraid that it would break soon or discolour etc. I received this little guy on 9th of February and was waiting to write a review. I've been using it every day since 9th and it works perfectly.Tips:- Do not fill it up to the top, follow the instructions, otherwise - a. the coffee will get wet; b. it will leak a bit while boiling.- Use good quality coffee and right grind - if you put cheap, bad coffee, you will get a bad one.- when washing - do not use the scourer side of the sponge - a. there's no need and b. it will lose the shine, obviously.See the photos below - I took them just now - you can see my reflection, it's still so shiny.

Der Kocher ist richtig gut aber ich weiß es nicht, warum der Preis hoch und runter schwenkt. Ich habe ihn für 4.74 Euro bestellt und wollte ihn nochmal bestellen, weil ich ihn einmal mit der Spulmaschine sauber gemacht habe. Er ist kaputt gegangen, und muss jetzt per Hand sauber gemacht. Ich weiß es nicht, ob das mein Fehler war oder weil es keine Hinweise gab, dass man ihn in die Spulmaschine nicht machen darf. Jetzt ist der Preis ungefähr 12 Euro, was ich wirklich teuer finde. 5 Euro finde ich gut für den teil. Deshalb gebe ich nur 4 Sterne.

En general bien, buen capacidad. Aunque me da la sensación de que el asa es un poco blanda y fácil de romper, ya que intenté abrirla e hice apoyo en el asa y noté que se doblaba un poco. Espero que no sea así y me dure mucho tiempo.

mon épouse aime bien le café fait avec ,moi pas du tout ( trop fade ) , ça marche bien mais la cafetière manque un peu de finition sur les bords de l'ouverture
