It works well!
Delivery & Packaging:Both arrived quickly in a thick padded envelope. The packaging itself is simple and easy to rip off with a little force once you get a hole in it.Fitting:Since the instructions were absolutely crap (see below), and to spare you possible frustration time, here's how I fitted my pair (ordered 2).You'll need: 1x Hammer (not what you think), 1x screwdriver (recommend a thick one for extra grip)1. Marking. > Place the tube roughly where you want it to be placed and mark it. > You'll mark the other "plate" later.2. Drill... > I'm sure there's probably a much easier way, but simply drill a hole just big enough to fit the barrel inside. I had to wriggle around to get my hole big enough.3. Barrel plate... > Turn the anchor plate 90*deg > (opt) drill a pilot hole for each of the holes on the barrel plate > screw the barrel plate onto the door. > NOTE! before doing this, turn the anchor plate (the one with the little extrusion) anti-clockwise to loosen it for later.4. Anchor plate...*WARNING* This part will require some muscle, as such you should probably get someone to help you (it'll help reduce frustration and possibly make installation quicker!) > First close the door so the extrusion on the anchor plate marks the door frame. > Using the nail removal side of the hammer, and with the anchor plate at 90*deg, slide the slit of the hammer-head between the clip holding the chain > Push the hammer down so that it exposes the chain - HOLD IT THERE > Place the clip (little piece of metal) somewhere on the chain- ideally close to the door. -- The clip stops the barrel from "closing the door". > Fit the anchor plate against the wall where it was marked.Removing the clip/hammer... This part is just as finicky as the above part, as the barrel is now applying force on the chain- which means the clip is against the door.IF you can open your door further. Simply open it further and slide the clip off the chain, otherwise continue reading: > Using the hammer again, this time slide it up between the clip and door and pull down. > once you have sufficient space, simply pull the clip off the chain > remove the hammer > remove your foot/object > watch your door now close itself. :)-- NOTE --To change how hard/fast the door closes:1 . Open the door2 . Place clip on chain.3 . Undo anchor plate4 . Rotate clockwise (this may be tricky).5 . Refit anchor plate6 . Remove clip-----------------Instructions:The instructions that came with the door closer were badly written and with a very bad diagram. This resulted in quite a bit of frustration and head-using.Aesthetics:When finally fitted, the plates and chain look of decent quality.Functionality:it closes my door pretty well, however I suspect it needs to be tighter. For now it will suffice as I don't want to fiddle around with it. The other one is sitting in a drawer waiting to be put into a door.Recommended:Yes, despite it's pathetic instructions the door closer itself is well built and does what it was designed for.I'd recommend leaving the tightness loose if you plan to use this on a fragile door and/or one with glass.

It wasn't a walk in the park to fit, but it works and relatively inexpensive so I won't mark it down
Just a couple of things to remember before getting hold of this... - Chisel set to make this flush with the door and frame first (like your standard door hinges) - It requires a 26mm hole to go into. I used a 22mm flat drill bit, maybe a little wiggle and the unit went it fine (basic panel door) - Once this is screwed into the door it takes quite a bit of effort with a claw hammer to prize the 2 plates apart so you can fit it to your doorframe. - It does come with a flat piece to lock the chain that makes it a little easier to fit.It wasn't a walk in the park to fit and took me maybe 40 minutes to do, but it's priced reasonably well and works so I'm not going to mark it down.

Good quality and Does the job
A little difficult to install. I actually drilled the hole so the door closer hit the pattern that is sunk into the door. So I had to move it to were there was no pattern. I would also recommend fitting it above the bottom door hung if possible. You can adjust the strength of the shut but I bought some insulation tape for around the door to stop it from slamming too hard and banging.

Good value
Reasonably priced closer that works well. This was a replacement unit for a previous one that lasted 16 years. A degree of carpentry skill required to instal this concealed closer. Tip - screw closer body into door then use a claw hammer to prise spring chain out.
