Ideal for canine first aid kit
Firstly, this product does not and should not be a substitute for seeking vet advice - especially when it comes to infectious disease in dogs - and even if you get a negative result, consulting with your vet will still be essential to rule out the diseases tested for in this kit and any other possible root of the problem.I have fostered dogs (and many other animals) for over a decade now and I also get called out to collect and transport lost, abandoned or surrendered animals multiple times per week.A kit like this could really make a world of difference to me - especially if I had on the spot concerns about a dog I needed to take into my care - as I have to safeguard the health of the existing dogs in my care, as well as that of the one I’m helping at that point in time. This kit is a lateral flow test, much like the ones we have all become super used to because of the recent pandemic and it tests for Canine Distemper, Canine Adeno And Canine Influenza - all of which are highly contagious and sadly, often prove fatal if emergency treatment is not sought out quickly. The kit I have in my possession is well packaged, has very clear instructions and the perishable items within it are clearly marked with batch numbers and expiry dates. For the price, I think it’s very worth while if you find yourself in a situation like I do with animal rescue and fostering, where you may have a hunch and want rapid confirmation while seeking medical assistance.

Great to have in your first aid kit.
The media could not be loaded. I ordered this to add to my dogs first aid kit.I wish I’d had access to something like this a couple of years ago when we adopted her. It could have potentially saved us hundreds of pounds. She was adopted from Spain and become a little unwell shortly after arriving. After having just been through rabies vaccinations and multiple vet visits to get her passport my little puppy was very afraid of the vets.If I’d had access to something like this back then, that gave an early detection of a virus, she wouldn’t have suffered so much anxiety and the cost would have been far less.Vets are marvellous and I take my hat off to them but even with insurance it can be so expensive, so for me, this testing kit is a ‘must have’.I hardly leave Bella, if I go somewhere she goes too, but if you use doggy day care then these are great for a periodic check if you see your dog is under the weather.Similarly if you adopt a pupper it’s definitely wise to check them. For us, we walk a great deal and meet a vast amount of dogs so she is in contact with many dogs every day which is wonderful but when kennel cough was rife in the summer it wasn’t so wonderful…If it was something more serious at least I’ve now potentially got a head start.I don’t think I would use this instead of a vet, but more to save her anxiety and me peace of mind, and if, god forbid, a result came back positive I would have been preemptive in taking measures against the possibility, and hopefully prevent any nasty virus from taking hold or spreading. The instructions are reasonably clear, we followed the saliva option on the box, the instructions inside differ a little but overall the test is easy and straightforward. Results take only 10 mins and there’s no stress on the dog whatsoever.I would definitely recommend this.I hope you found this review helpful.

Easy to use, instant results.. But lacks information
Our dogs mean the world to us, so I grasped the opportunity to try this. I don't like to give my 3.5 year old boy chemicals if I can avoid it and prefer to do kits to check he's healthy and well.Pros:• Easy to use• Covers multiple conditions• Instant resultsCons:• Confusing instructions (the paper instructions say ocular and nasal secretions, whereas the box says saliva is fine)• Can't find any information about the brandThe brand---------------I always research brands behind goods when it involves my pets. I assume this is a Chinese brand, and I cannot find anything about them online anywhere, so it's quite hard to know the credibility of these results being somebody from the UK. It would be nice to know a bit more about them to be able to trust the product more. The pack---------------You receive a small boxed product that comes with all the bits you need to do a test for the three conditions: distemper, adeno and CIV. You get one swab, some liquid to do the sample, a pipette and the test kit where you input the sample. How to use---------------This was confusing for us. You get paper instructions which walk you through the process, which didn't have any pictures. It was a bit misleading as it mentions ocular and nasal samples, whereas the box says a saliva sample and gives you step by step pictures. We decided to go with the box instructions purely because... Well, getting an ocular/nasal sample is a bit beyond me and I didn't want to hurt my boy mWe took a saliva sample by popping the swab far back between his lip and his gum (we've taken saliva swabs before) and got a good amount of saliva, and mixed with the liquid. It doesn't specify how long for, so we mixed it in best we could and left it for a minute. You then empty the mixed contents into the provided pipette and pop 3-4 drops in each sample hole on the plastic kit (which is sealed in a foil pack).Results---------------We were super relieved to see our results all came back negative. You need to leave it on a level surface, and make sure you get a control line so that it shows the test has worked. You should leave it for ten minutes until you read the results (there are three results to read). It gives you a QR code to scan to get your results explained but luckily we didn't need to do this.My verdict---------------I'm pleased with the test itself but the instructions and information leaves a lot to be desired. It's good value, very simple and easy to use without much stress from your dog.The consistency in information makes it hard to trust the results fully, but I also appreciate if it is correct, then this is an easy way to test your dog to make sure they're in good health. So, if the results can be trusted... Excellent. I just need a bit more convincing with the brand and instructions.
