A magic lighty up kettle
What you done for me lately, kettle? So you come to replace your naff old kettle for a new glass one with lighty up LEDs to make the tea making experience that little bit more exciting. Mostly you want to impress chicks and cut out hours of small talk and foreplay by reducing them to gooey messes with your new TRON-like water boiling appliance. But yikes - they all seem to be pretty expensive, or have complaints of tasting plasticky. No one wants that. The last glass one I bought from Aldi for £20 had a lid that soon shattered. Where are the good product designers? In the kitchen drinking too much tea with this kettle, thats where.Well if you're going to spend £30+ on a kettle, you may as well squeeze in some extra cool stuff. This kettle, after lots of research, was the perfect buy. The main cool (hot) extra is that you can press another button for 90 degree heat rather than boiling - perfect for your tacky instant coffees. The leds light up a different colour for each temperature. It also gives a single beep when its boiled, rather than a simple click, so you can hear it across your huge mansion. The only real imperpection is that you have to press the lid to open it, rather than use the same hand you're using to carry it to the sink. A really silly design flaw really, a same-hand button release is an obvious "idea". If you lost your other hand in 'Nam or a terrible smelting accident, or you're carrying a small revolver in your other hand because you're kindly making tea for the meth addicts who owe you money, then you'll be inconvenienced. Otherwise its a great kettle.Oh, also it comes with a eu to uk plug adapter which is fine but is about the size of an apple stuck into the wall.

Dangerous
I really liked this kettle when I first got it. I wanted it so I could control the boil temp of my hot drinks so I could drink them quickly before jumping in the van. The lid has always been awful. Condensation forces bubbles around the lid which make it hot and untouchable just after boiling. It’s also flimsy and the release button is rubbish so it’s hard to open it sometimes. But recently I’ve had a new problem where you boil the kettle and it stinks of melted plastic and taints the water. So I’ve finally had to give up and chuck it as it’s plain dangerous.

Smart Kettle
The media could not be loaded. I needed a new kettle as my existing one is getting a bit old and also I think the coffee was starting to taste a bit funny out of it. So, I received this kettle. The kettle is very cool looking as it is transparent which I actually like as I can see the water boiling. It’s no quicker to boil water than my old kettle and it’s also no quieter either. However, it is more clever than the kettles I’ve owned before. It has a few extra features for a kettle, where you can press a button on the handle to choose to heat the water to 60, 70, 80 or 90 degrees as well as just pressing the regular power button to boil to 100%. For a coffee addict like me, the option to heat to 90 degrees is excellent as I find this makes MUCH better coffee at that temperature. Too hot and it’s bitter. 90 degrees is perfect. So, basically, I use the 90 degree setting all the time now with this new kettle and my (instant) coffee tastes amazing! Also, it pours really well, which is always a benefit and not always the case with some kettles. Also, each of the temperature settings makes the kettle light up near the base a particular colour. Though it is not essential, but it is quite cool to have a feature like that. The kettle also has a function which can keep water hot for up to 2 hours, it is very handy as you don't always have to boil the water again within that time limit. All in all though I’m very happy with it, as you can tell it does what it’s supposed to and allows me to make excellent coffee at the perfect temperature every time! Disclaimer - I was sent this item in exchange for my honest review. This does not affect my personal opinion. I am sharing my own experience upon trying out the product, with as much information/photos as I can provide.

Looks good but hasn't lasted
Liked the kettle from the start with different temp settings and colour indicator, but after less than a year the LED light started to dim, and now the kettle will only boil once it has completely cooled so not any use for tea/coffee through the evening, dissapointed at how long it lasted, will be looking for a new kettle now

Good kettle, but beeps quite loud
Not the kettle you want to get if you're making a cuppa early in the morning when the rest of the family are still in bed - it beeps fairly loud. It does it once when you put it on the power stand after filling it, again when you press the button to start it boiling and again when it's boiled. Completely unnecessary most of the time, and loud enough to wake you up upstairs when the kettle's in the kitchen on the other side of the house, downstairs.

Not a long lasting kettle
I have had two of these kettles and both times they lids have broken off. As others have noted, the lid is attached via a thin and flimsy plastic strip that will wear down after a while and eventually snap off.I liked the variable temp control and the keep warm function but this is an expensive kettle that will not last you 12 months. You'll also have trouble contacting the manufacturer if you have issues since they are an obscure German company not based in the UK and unlikely to reply.Thankfully Amazon replaced my last broken one... Only for the replacement to break in exactly the same fashion less than 12 months later.

Avoid plastic
Very useful as it has helped me to get rid of plastic.God knows what we were having to drink in the plastic kettles. The different temperature is very helpful for me as it allows me to heat the water to 90 degrees only. This is important in preparing good quality coffee where it is important not to burn the coffee by pouring boiling water on it.The down side is that it is very noisy and takes much longer to boil than the previous kettles.I would still have it though because of the main issue of avoiding boiling water in plastic kettles.
