When checking my golf swing the speed shown is very low and not accurate, can it be calibrated?

I found the you have to place it in front of the ball. ie behind the net then it works well. At 90deg from the tee it does not register club head speed.

What are the particular instructions for golf swing speed measurement or how do I get them?

Set it up just in front of where the ball would be - it can be a little way back from the swing path. Switch it on and swing, it tends to give a more accurate measure if you are hitting an actual ball.

This is a tricky unit to set up and I had to experiment a bit to get it to work. I think that it is designed to be placed behind a net and the ball struck towards it but what I wanted to do was to check a golf club swing speed moving across the front of it. I obtained the best results as follows; Select the "A2" setting using the option button on the back of the unit, set the unit approximately 9 - 12 inches behind the tee at an angle of 45 degrees to the club swing movement. The unit should also be approximately 6 - 9 inches to the left of the tee. This works for me but I'm still not convinced that it is 100 percent accurate.

Could I use this as a speed trap for small remote controlled cars? Would I need to place it looking down a straight or across it?

I have used this on a stand behind a football goal to record speed of shot for charity fun days so I suggest you set this up looking down the track towards the on coming cars
