In Jan 16 we visited a Dog owners home with the RSPCA to rescue a Woofer who was said to be in a very sorry state of neglect. On arrival we faced a woofer typical of the dogs seen in the TV adverts which was just total skin and bone. Needless to say we came home with her, and following a visit to our Vet and being given a great deal of love, devotion, and food by us over a few weeks, she has developed into a just drop dead gorgeous Woofer. Her best mates are our other 4 rescue Woofers. You can see it in her eyes and her emotions that every day is for her a new beginning and a life that she had previously totally given up on. She has a lot of missing history in her life, mostly due to her previous owners total disinterest in her, but she was possibly a Mini Poodle. As she put on weight she has now developed into a Woofer that looks more like a Cockerpoo cross which has also been backed up by our Vet and Dog Groomer, so following a suggestion from our Groomer we grabbed hold of a DNA test kit. This looked like a great kit on Amazon so we purchased one, and it was with us in 2 days by recorded delivery. Supplied instructions were excellent and included 4 swabs and a return envelope together with a document to complete. We had some questions re the document but a phone call to the supplier International Biosciences very soon resolved my questions, and we happily returned everything back to them, again by recorded delivery. Within 2 days we had a phone call from IB to confirm receipt of our test kit and to confirm timescale for results, Within 2 hours of this call we received an e-mail inviting us to include a photo of our Girl which they would include on our Certificate. This we sent over to them. A week later we received the initial results of the DNA tests by printable e-mail, and the next day in the post we got their official documents. A Certificate, with picture, confirming her breed, and guidance notes to explain everything including potential problems with the Breed of Woofer. It just confirmed everything we wanted to know about our rescue woofer and as it turned out she was a purebred Mini Poodle, which not only surprised us, our Vet, our Groomer Sam, but our Poodle Meesha was also surprised. What we must state is that the level of communication from these Guys at IB has been the best experience for us, either by post, phone, or e-mail, these Guys have really been the Bogs Dollocks. You need to check out your Woofer and it's history or potential health problems???, whoever you go to check out the DNA and get those results then these Guys at IB have got to be your very first choice. Totally, totally. totally recommended by us and our rescue Meesha.

Meet our darling Huxley, we love him. He was purchased as a second-generation Cockapoo. Although he looks as though he has a little King Charles Spaniel in him!. So we decided to get him tested and purchased a text from DNA testing. it was supposed to be a 2-week turnaround time. After nearly 5 weeks the test came back Huxley is 100% Toy poodle....Really? Huxley weighs 11 kg and stands about 14 inches tall. Which makes the test result complete rubbish!! I have emailed them and said what I thought, but needless to say, no answer. I suspect some poor breeder is now being challenged about the integrity of their dog's breed when they are in fact a 100% Toy poodle! They won't be able to breed them without the certification and possibly will have their dog destroyed. Rest assured we love Huxley, he will not be going anywhere, but we need these guys to totally get their act together, and send us and the other poor party involved the right results.

Was amazed at the findings

Just received the result. Took a few weeks. But was kept informed of progress. Easy to use and postpaid label supplied. Detailed breakdown of dogs DNA. Not quite what I expected but that was the point of doing it.

The kit was so easy to use and they emailed receipt of the sample and the results as well as sending them. Easy to understand the results and option of a photograph although at an additional cost. Ideal for understanding your cross breed dog for training purposes. Only negative is you have to buy a stamp to return the swabs to the lab but thats only a single stamp required.

You need to swab in morning before food.. my dog is not very cooperative. I tried but not sure if it was successful. If not I've wasted 60.00 Be aware ..

I sent a sample off because I wasn't sure that my puppy was the breed i was told she was. The form you fill in ask what breed you believe they are and I wrote unknown. I wasn't asked for any photos and I received the results today. I was surprised to see the outcome but upon googling the breeds specified I can totally see that this is what my pup is. Well done guys, you nailed it.

I bought this kit after getting a new dog. I used this kit 16 years ago with my first dog and it was pretty accurate for her. So it was an easy choice to get it again. The test was easy to administer and return for testing. I had zero issues. I did not submit a photo mostly bec I don’t feel it was necessary. That said, every breed listed in my dog I can see except one. The other five I can see and had thought my dog was a combo of. For suspected breed I just put lab mix. But I didn’t say what mix I thought. Turns out his DNA confirmed all five I thought. Highly recommend this test. Not sure on others experience, but both times I’ve used them I’ve had zero issues!

scam locked me out once sample was received

Great test. We have a rescue dog who we thought was a collie/pointer mix but wondered about a couple of other breeds too (maybe whippet?) and result was…60% collie, 30% pointer! I didn’t send any other info or photo with the test. It’s really nice to have the confirmation and gives great confidence in the test! Really good communication throughout process and no problems sending test from Ireland.
