Bought to use as pie plates, long lasting

For something billed as a pie plate, this lacks depth to be one. Other than that is a handy little plate

Although this is marketed as a dinner plate, what I was really lookinf for was a traditional, sloping-sided pie plate, which I couldn't find anywhere on the high street, so I was really pleased to discover this one on-line. Sadly, because I still think in imperial terms, I misjudged the size of it, and was a little disappointed that it was smaller than I expected. My own fault - when dimensions are given in cms I really ought to get out the tape measure and check! However, it is still big enough to make decent size apple pies - (in fact, it's probably better for my health that I'll be baking smaller ones)I was also a little disappointed that the bottom of the plate got chipped during transport. However this is a common problem with enamelled goods. I've got plenty of other enamel dishes with all sorts of chips on them, which doesn't detract from their functionality.If it hadn't been for these 2 minor points, I may have given this a 5 star.

The plate is 20cm as described, pretty sturdy also, probably doesn't break easily and definitely would not shatter.Just make sure you realise how small 20cm is before buying it, as I bought this for a friend who wanted a "dinner" plate and this is more suited for breakfast or perhaps a dinner of varying courses.
